Close a spillway gate of Tuyen Quang hydroelectric reservoir

Implementing the inter-reservoir operation process in the Red River basin and ensuring the direction and operation of natural disaster prevention and control, ensuring downstream safety when operating Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir during the time of perfecting the command and direction agencies for civil defense at all levels, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development ordered the Director of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company to close a bottom spillway gate of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir at 08:00 on September 10, 2024.

To ensure the safety of works and riverside activities, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development requests the People's Committees of Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc provinces and Hanoi city to notify authorities at all levels, people and organizations operating on rivers and riverside to take proactive measures to ensure safety and adjust activities accordingly; do not let people go to areas at risk of landslides or construction works to avoid unfortunate losses. At the same time, promptly report any unusual situations to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (through the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and Control).
