Although focusing on activities and preparations for the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the Party Committee and the government of Dien Bien province have always closely led, directed and implemented the tasks of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, building the Party, and building the political system to ensure comprehensive and consistent leadership. The province's economy continues to grow, with an estimated growth rate of 6.07% in the first quarter (ranked 4th out of 14 provinces in the Northern midland and mountainous region and ranked 25th out of 63 provinces and cities in the country); state budget revenue in the area reached 18.03% of the annual plan; disbursement of the capital investment plan reached 18.58% of the capital plan assigned by the Prime Minister. The total number of tourists to the area reached nearly 450 thousand (an increase of 1.46 times compared to the same period last year), the total revenue from tourism activities is estimated at 777 billion VND (an increase of 1.48 times compared to the plan). The work of Party building and political system building has been focused on leadership and direction; regularly grasping the ideological situation and public opinion, promptly orienting to contribute to stabilizing ideology, political security, and social order and safety in the whole province.

The province has focused human resources and resources on the progress of organizing cultural, sports and tourism activities and implementing 18 urban beautification projects and projects to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory with the highest sense of responsibility. Up to now, 5 urban beautification projects have started construction, expected to be completed before April 10, 2024; 5 urban beautification projects are in the process of selecting construction contractors; projects in the public investment plan to serve the anniversary have completed 80% or more of the volume, expected to be completed in mid-April and before May 7 in time for the anniversary activities...

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Truong Thi Mai requested that the advisory agencies develop a general scenario for the Commemoration Ceremony in detail, starting from the incense offering ceremony, flower offering ceremony, main ceremony... until the end of the commemoration ceremony. Therefore, comrade Truong Thi Mai assigned comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Propaganda Department to be the commander-in-chief of the entire scenario, directly manage and assign specific tasks to each agency and unit to ensure the success of the commemoration ceremony.
