Vietnam team tied with New Zealand

At Lanh Binh Thang Stadium, the 2024 international futsal friendly tournament kicked off with the participation of 4 teams: Iran, Morocco, New Zealand and host Vietnam. On the opening day, the Vietnamese futsal team faced the New Zealand futsal team.

The Vietnam futsal team took the field with the starting group consisting of Huu Phuc, Doan Phat, Anh Duy, Minh Quang and Thinh Phat. Less than a minute after the opening whistle, the first opportunity came to the Vietnam futsal team. Anh Duy's efforts created an opportunity for Minh Quang but this player missed the ball from less than 2 meters away.

Overall, the Vietnamese futsal team put a lot of pressure on the visitors' field. The second group with Gia Hung, Duc Hoa or Thai Huy made it difficult for the opponents. In the 8th minute, receiving a pass from Huu Phuc, Van Tien blocked and turned to score with class, opening the score for the Vietnamese futsal team.

But just 2 minutes later, New Zealand equalized. In their somewhat subjective defense, the home players forgot about Ali and let him easily score.

In the 16th minute, the Vietnamese futsal team continued to show their superiority. From a good coordination on the left wing, Duc Hoa had a pass just in time for Thai Huy to skillfully finish, raising the score to 2-1 for the Vietnamese futsal team. The first half ended with the advantage for coach Diego Giustozzi and his team.

In the second half, the equalizer came early for the New Zealand futsal team. Ali still ran in and finished at the far post to help the away team restore balance. Unlike the first 20 minutes of the match, the Vietnamese futsal team had many opportunities but could not score. The red-shirted strikers did not finish well and were also unlucky.

They continuously missed opportunities to help the Vietnamese futsal team take the lead. In the end, the Vietnamese futsal team drew 2-2 with the New Zealand futsal team.
