Changes in the revolutionary homeland of Ninh Giang

Comrade Do Van Phong, Secretary of the Ninh Giang Commune Party Committee, said: Ninh Giang is a locality with a very early Party base. The first Communist Party cell was established in January 1931 in Trung Tru village. This was an important event of historical significance, opening the way for the people's revolutionary struggle movement.

Upon its establishment, the Party Cell actively educated and trained Party members in difficult and arduous circumstances, fostering in them willpower, determination, courage and revolutionary qualities. The Party always stayed close to the masses to propagate, mobilize and organize the masses into revolutionary forces. The Party Cell quickly built up armed forces to ensure the struggle for victory. Since then, the Party's prestige has grown and the Party Cell's fighting strength has increased.

The Party cell led the people to carry out the revolutionary struggle, continuously winning glorious victories, starting with the struggle to demand increased harvest wages and fight against tax collection in 1931. The revolutionary movement in Ninh Giang had a great influence on the revolutionary movement in Gia Khanh district, contributing with the people of the whole province and the whole country to make the August Revolution of 1945 a success.

Mr. Vu Duc Sam (85 years old, 61 years of Party membership) in Dong hamlet led us to visit the historical revolutionary site of Dong hamlet Diem. Standing in front of the memorial stele, he proudly said: According to the history books of the commune Party Committee, here, on the evening of June 28, 1931, the "tax collection and collection" campaign committee secretly organized a meeting with members of the red workers' and farmers' associations and progressive masses to unanimously launch a protest: Demanding that the puppet government of the French colonialists must reduce taxes and fees, increase wages for hired workers. The protest group must be tightly organized, united, flexible and steadfast in the struggle. On the morning of June 29, 1931, following orders, from the alleys in the hamlet, groups of farmers with bare heads, bare feet and ragged clothes gathered at Dong hamlet Diem, forming a protest group that marched up to the district and the province. Along the way, many farmers from neighboring areas joined in to form a large, organized group.

Arriving at the Ninh Binh Governor's Palace, the French mandarin and the Ninh Binh Governor sent armed soldiers to prevent and threaten them. The protesters still bravely submitted a petition demanding a reduction in high taxes and duties. After many hours of resolute struggle with the argument: "If the mandarin does not accept the petition, does not approve the petition, the people will definitely not return"... Finally, the Ninh Binh Governor had to accept, sign the petition according to the protesters' request and promised to return to Trung Tru village temple the next day to resolve the concessions. The protest was a success, the people happily returned home, agreeing on a plan for the next day's struggle at Trung Tru village temple. Since then, June 29th has been taken as the traditional revolutionary day of the heroic Ninh Giang homeland.

"We are always proud of being born in our homeland, always educating and encouraging our children and grandchildren to follow in the footsteps of our ancestors to build our homeland and make our country more and more innovative," Mr. Vu Duc Sam affirmed.

During the resistance war against French colonialism (1946 - 1954) and American imperialism (1954 - 1975), Ninh Giang people wholeheartedly served the revolution with the spirit of "not a pound of rice was missing, not a soldier was missing", many generations of young people enthusiastically volunteered to join the army, were present on all battlefields, fought bravely, contributed to defeating the colonialists, imperialists and their lackeys, and unifying the country.

Handling administrative procedures at the One-stop shop of Ninh Giang commune

In the current period, the Party Committee and People of Ninh Giang commune are actively and creatively applying the Party's guidelines and policies to the local situation, striving to fulfill the set political tasks. In 1999, the People and armed forces of the commune were honored to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the State. In 2014, Ninh Giang was recognized by the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province as the first commune in Hoa Lu district to meet new rural standards; in 2020, it was recognized as a model new rural commune.

Proud of the revolutionary fighting tradition of their fathers, generations of cadres, party members and people of Ninh Giang today always strive to continue writing glorious pages of history of their homeland. Secretary of the Ninh Giang Commune Party Committee Do Van Phong said: Ninh Giang is the northern gateway of Hoa Lu district and in the future will become a ward - belonging to Hoa Lu city. Therefore, in the coming time, with pride in the tradition of the heroic homeland, cadres, party members and people in the commune continue to unite and be unanimous in carrying out political tasks and patriotic emulation movements.

In economic development, the Party Committee of the commune continues to identify agriculture as the pillar of the economy, thereby encouraging people to invest in developing agricultural production, while promoting the development of small-scale industry and services. Promote administrative reform, call for investment, promote trade associated with tourism services. Focus on building a clean and strong Party, government, and mass organizations, strengthening people's trust in Party committees and governments at all levels...

Comrade Vu Thi Hong Hue, Secretary of the Ninh Giang Commune Youth Union, shared: Proud to be born in a homeland with a long revolutionary tradition, Ninh Giang youth always have many aspirations, ambitions, and desires to contribute. The Executive Committee of the Ninh Giang Commune Youth Union has been organizing many activities to mobilize young people to join hands in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas, volunteering for community life and ensuring social security, and taking the initiative to protect the Fatherland.

The Executive Committee of the Commune Youth Union proactively coordinates with the Commune Veterans Association and the Board of Directors of schools to strengthen the work of traditional education, thereby contributing to raising the awareness and responsibility of the youth, contributing to building the homeland and the country to become increasingly prosperous, to be worthy of the contributions and sacrifices of many generations of predecessors.

With the remarkable development over the past 8 decades, cadres, party members and people of Ninh Giang have the right to be proud of the tradition of revolutionary struggle, which is also the luggage and motivation for the Party Committee, army and people in the commune to continue building the homeland to become increasingly prosperous.
