Every year, during the harvest season of Phuc Trach grapefruit, many people and traders from all over come to both sides of National Highway 15A, near the train station and market in Huong Khe town (Huong Khe mountainous district, Ha Tinh province) to hold a "mobile" market, buying and selling a single product: the famous Phuc Trach grapefruit.
The market usually takes place from late August to October, then gradually thins out towards the end of the grapefruit season; during the peak season, the market is open all day and lasts until late at night.
The whole market area was bustling with laughter and the sound of vehicles transporting grapefruit.
At the market, Phuc Trach grapefruit is displayed for sale, piled up on small tarps on empty land on both sides of National Highway 15A, near the train station and Huong Khe town market, in front of people's yards, packed into sacks or placed on trailers and small trucks.
In a short time, when the seller and buyer have successfully agreed on a price, these grapefruits will be loaded onto vehicles and transported to localities, wholesale markets, supermarkets, shopping centers, etc. in and outside Ha Tinh province for consumption.
For a long time, the mountainous district of Huong Khe has been considered the largest "capital" of growing Phuc Trach grapefruit in the Central region, with an area of about 2,768 hectares, of which the area for fruit products is more than 1,900 hectares, grown in many communes such as Phuc Trach, Huong Trach, Huong Do, Loc Yen, Gia Pho, Huong Thuy, Huong Giang, Ha Linh, Phuc Dong, Dien My...
