On the afternoon of February 6, information related to tourism in Ho Chi Minh City was provided at a press conference on the socio-economic situation, held at the Tuoi Tre newspaper office on the occasion of the New Year. This was the first time this press conference was held at a newspaper office, instead of the Press Center as usual.
Ms. Dinh To Hoa - Deputy Head of the Department of Technology and Tourism Information, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism - said that international visitors to the city during the Lunar New Year 2025 are estimated to reach about 87,000. Visitors to tourist areas and spots... are about 2.1 million.
"In particular, the city's impressive revenue figure reached VND7,690 billion, 17.4% higher than last year," said Ms. Hoa.
Ms. Hoa added that the city has been preparing to serve tourists this time very early. Travel companies have launched many diverse and attractive services in Ho Chi Minh City. The highlight is Nguyen Hue Flower Street with the theme of “Songs and Brocades, Joyful Spring in Peace” serving people from December 28 to the 5th day of Tet.
The flower street has activities, cultural characteristics of Tet, organizes food stalls... with the participation of representatives of diplomatic agencies of various countries.
In addition, the Spring Flower Market on the wharf under the boat with a scale of over 700 fruit and vegetable trading points... has contributed to creating an attractive cultural space, imbued with both traditional and modern features.
At the Spring Flower Market, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism also made a Love Flower Street. Through the program, about 9,500 flower pots were purchased to decorate the Love Flower Street and give to disadvantaged households and decorate the neighborhood. The flower street attracted about 10,000 visitors.
Tourist attractions such as Dam Sen Cultural Park, Suoi Tien Cultural Tourist Area, and Cu Chi Tunnels relic site also have many unique activities, attracting many tourists to visit and have fun.
In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and related units also organized the program Giving Spring Love to 3,000 orphans, disabled children, and children in difficult circumstances in the city and some neighboring provinces. The total cost of the program is about 2 billion VND.
Ho Chi Minh City aims to achieve total tourism revenue of VND260,000 billion by 2025, with 8.5 million international visitors and 45 million domestic visitors.
This year, Ho Chi Minh City tourism will focus on diversifying tourism products, promoting night tourism and shopping. At the same time, it will apply digital technology to increase communication efficiency and focus strongly on the Northeast Asian market, exploiting new direct flights to Australia and North America.
