Add intersection with My Thuan-Can Tho expressway

The Ministry of Construction has decided to add the construction project of the extended Vo Van Kiet intersection connecting with the My Thuan - Can Tho expressway, contributing to creating a driving force for the development of Vinh Long City.

Specifically, additional investment will be made to build an intersection with the extended Vo Van Kiet road at km109+130. This is a four-way intersection with branches, a flyover in the direction of the extended Vo Van Kiet road and a roundabout at both ends for turning around.


Vo Van Kiet Street extended within the intersection has a 22m wide roadbed, a 19m wide road surface to accommodate 4 motor vehicle lanes and 2 mixed vehicle lanes, a 2m wide median strip; the road has the scale of an urban main road, with a design speed of 60 km/h. The branches in the intersection have an 8m wide roadbed, a 6m wide road surface, and a design speed of 40 km/h. Construct a new overpass at the intersection at km109+130 in the direction of Vo Van Kiet Street extended across the main route of My Thuan-Can Tho Expressway, including 5 spans, 220.4m long.


The Minister of Construction also decided to supplement and restore some sections of the My Thuan-Can Tho Expressway according to the scale and technical standards previously approved; to build a new Xeo Lo bridge on the service road with a length of 142.4m and a width of 5m. At the same time, to complete the intelligent transportation system (ITS), traffic management and operation center and the electronic toll collection system (ETC).


The total investment of the My Thuan - Can Tho expressway project has been adjusted to more than 5,826 billion VND, an increase of more than 997 billion VND compared to the preliminary total investment of 4,827 billion VND previously approved. It will be basically completed in 2025 and put into operation in 2026.
