Vietnamese enterprises with sustainable development goals

In the current context, enterprises not only create profits, but also have to create sustainable social values. This contributes to enhancing the competitiveness and brand value of enterprises, as well as helping enterprises develop sustainably, towards international integration.

Recently, many Vietnamese enterprises have increasingly paid attention to linking production with promoting social values, focusing on green and sustainable production; building production and business plans based on environmental and social indicators associated with green growth goals.

Focus on green and sustainable production criteria

According to the results of a recent survey by the Association of High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Enterprises, regarding the level of implementation of some contents towards green production practices in business operations, most of the contents have been implemented by businesses at a regular level.

Domestic enterprises are not only interested in the goal of improving production efficiency, but also show their determination to pursue a long-term strategy towards green growth and sustainable development. Notably, more than 1/3 of high-quality Vietnamese enterprises said that they will build production and business plans based on environmental and social indicators. This is the most important indicator to achieve the goal of green growth and sustainable development.

In Dong Nai, many enterprises are pioneering in applying green production measures, utilizing advanced technology and environmentally friendly materials to move towards sustainable development.

Chairman of Dong Nai Association for Standards and Consumer Protection Pham Gia Hai emphasized that the trend of green, safe, and sustainable consumption has a profound social meaning, aiming towards a green, sustainable economy... When the factors of information transparency and product traceability are emphasized, consumers increasingly value the factors of sustainability, green - clean - safe, especially with many changes in shopping habits.

In particular, as science and technology develop, green and sustainable factors play an increasingly key role in helping businesses enhance their brands and competitiveness in domestic and international markets.

Creating social values

Chairman of the Association of High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Enterprises Vu Kim Hanh said: “2025 is the year associated with the association's theme of Connecting Actions - Understanding and Adapting. In particular, we focus on improving our understanding of consumer situations, market dynamics and trends. This is an important asset for businesses. In addition, the association will promote and strengthen support programs for related businesses, including the Program to Build Sustainable Quality for Multi-Channel Sales Distribution Systems...”.

At the seminar "Vietnamese enterprises create sustainable social values ​​in the new competitive context" held within the framework of the Announcement Ceremony of High-quality Vietnamese Goods in 2025 last March, Chairman of Vinamit Joint Stock Company Nguyen Lam Vien expressed that currently, it is necessary to bring the brand into the hearts, not the minds of consumers. Because, if we only bring the brand into the minds of consumers, we may become "outdated" in the context of many fluctuations in the market. Especially when consumer behavior has changed a lot, they are choosing products where community values, social values ​​are more important than ever...

According to many experts, one of the major challenges for enterprises is to link production and business development with environmental protection factors, creating sustainable social values. Thereby, meeting ESG standards (environment, society and governance). This is not only a market requirement, but also an opportunity to improve productivity and minimize business risks, develop sustainable brands, etc.

Since the beginning of 2025, the Association of High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Enterprises has launched two new programs to create social values, namely Sustainable Charity and Promoting Gender Equality in the Workplace. These are two programs to implement the letter S (social) in ESG in the new era and the context of deep integration.

Ms. Vu Kim Hanh added that in 2025, the Association of High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Enterprises will increase the provision of market information and enhance understanding for enterprises. The Association will also create a more cohesive space between groups in the LBC (Leading Business Club). Within the LBC, there will be three groups: the technology group, the retail consumer group and the agricultural group. These groups will coordinate with each other to overcome difficulties and promote the green transformation program.
