Nghe An provincial leaders work with the US Semiconductor Industry Association
Continuing the working program in the United States, on the morning of November 9 (local time), the Nghe An Provincial Delegation had a working session with the US-ASEAN Business Council.
Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and Mr. Ted Osius - Ambassador, Chairman of the US-ASEAN Business Council co-chaired the meeting.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Mr. Ted Osius - Ambassador, Chairman of the US-ASEAN Business Council emphasized that after the visit to Vietnam by US President Joe Biden, this is the first Vietnamese delegation to work at the US-ASEAN Business Council. This is also the time when many US businesses are interested in seeking opportunities and expanding investment in Vietnam, including in provinces and cities.
Ambassador and President of the US-ASEAN Business Council Ted Osius expressed his gratitude for the development of Nghe An province in recent times, since his visit to President Ho Chi Minh's hometown in 2016; at the same time, he said that the upgrading of relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries has affirmed that the United States considers Vietnam a reliable partner and promises to have developments in the coming time.
At the meeting, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung introduced the province's geographical location, natural conditions, potentials, strengths in attracting investment and the province's support policies, and the province's needs in attracting investment.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung emphasized that Nghe An province has prepared the most favorable conditions in terms of planning, essential infrastructure, investment premises, human resources and administrative procedure support for investors when they come to learn about and invest in Nghe An.
Nghe An province focuses on attracting investment in the Southeast Economic Zone with 5 industrial parks with a scale of about 2,000 hectares, enjoying the highest incentives according to the regulations of the Vietnamese Government, fully meeting the requirements of investors when coming to learn about and invest in Nghe An.
In particular, in recent years, Nghe An has focused on improving the business investment environment, enhancing the competitiveness of the province, on that basis increasing investment attraction, especially foreign investment attraction.
Nghe An province has prepared platforms and ecosystems to welcome US businesses in high-tech fields such as: Semiconductor technology, manufacturing industry, production of materials, electronic components, financial services, and banking.
The attractive fields aim to meet the requirements of innovation, digital economy, green economy, circular economy, knowledge economy, sharing economy, climate change response economy, new energy, renewable energy for sustainable development.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung said that the US-ASEAN Business Council includes many large US enterprises. Therefore, he hopes that the Chairman of the US-ASEAN Business Council will pay attention to supporting Nghe An province in activities to contact enterprises of the Council, creating a bridge to introduce enterprises to learn about and invest in Nghe An province.
Discussing issues of interest to the Chairman of the US-ASEAN Business Council, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the development of industrial parks in the province's economic zones aims to attract projects that meet technological and environmental requirements.
Nghe An province always considers the issue of attracting investment projects very carefully and always pursues the viewpoint: Do not trade the environment for economic development. Nghe An will prioritize land allocation in economic zones to form specialized industrial zones for the development of the semiconductor industry.
On this occasion, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung also highly appreciated the role of Ambassador Ted Osius during his tenure as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Vietnam, as well as the Ambassador's important contributions to the results of upgrading the relationship between the two countries to the level of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Next, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung and leaders of departments and branches met and discussed with leaders of 9M Enterprise Company.
