On June 17, Nhon Trach District Police (Dong Nai) said they were detaining Ho Sy Son (40 years old, residing in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai) to investigate the act of extortion.
According to the initial investigation, since 2019, Son had a relationship with Ms. TTMT (23 years old, from Binh Dinh). In May 2020, Son used his phone to record sensitive images of Ms. T. About 1 month later, Ms. T. returned to her hometown and broke up with Son.
Because he wanted to keep Ms. T.'s relationship, Son threatened to post Ms. T.'s nude clip on social media. Fearing that Son would post "hot" photos, Ms. T. complied with his request. Son asked Ms. T. to come to a motel in Phu Cat district (Binh Dinh) to meet and delete these "sensitive" images and videos. However, when Ms. T. had just left, Son restored the video and 3 nude photos that Ms. T. had previously deleted.
Some time later, Son continued to send "hot" photos and threats, but Ms. T. did not respond.
In early June, Son sent "hot" photos of Ms. T. to her friends and asked for 15 million VND.
Because of fear, on June 11, Ms. T. transferred 5 million VND to Son's account. After that, Son continued to ask to meet Ms. T. and take the remaining amount.
On June 13, when Son made an appointment to meet Ms. T. at a company in Nhon Trach 6 Industrial Park (Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai) and was receiving the remaining money, he was caught red-handed by the police.
The case is currently under investigation and clarification by the police.
