France's win at Roland Garros 2023 helped Novak Djokovic equal Roger Federer's record of 65 consecutive first-round Grand Slam appearances.
Djokovic is only the second man in the Open era to do so, in both men's and women's singles, spanning from Roland Garros 2006 to Roland Garros 2023.

Federer was previously the first to reach the milestone of winning the first round from Wimbledon 2003 to Wimbledon 2021. The Swiss legend did not compete in a Grand Slam after Wimbledon 2021 due to injury, then retired last year.
Djokovic is likely to set a new record when he plays at Wimbledon next month – a Grand Slam he has dominated for the past half-decade.
Djokovic is playing his 19th consecutive clay Grand Slam. After beating Aleksandar Kovacevic on the afternoon of May 29, Djokovic admitted that the journey in the tournaments is getting harder. He said: "I want to overwhelm my opponents, but sometimes I can, sometimes I can't. My passion is still there, but at this age, things can change very quickly."
Djokovic 3-0 Kovacevic.
Djokovic's next opponent in the second round is Marton Fucsovics, who is considered capable of shocking the higher seeds. Djokovic is aiming for a record-breaking 23rd Grand Slam title. He will also become the first man to win all four Grand Slams at least three times if he wins Roland Garros this year.
"I'm happy with the win and I'm enjoying the atmosphere here," Djokovic added. "I have a lot of emotions here, a lot of motivation. I bring positive thoughts into the match."
