Novak Djokovic is closer to an Olympic gold medal than ever before in his career. In his fifth appearance at the Summer Olympics, Djokovic reached the men's singles final for the first time. Before that, he had reached the semi-finals three times and was eliminated all of them (once bronze medal, twice fourth place), and once stopped in the first round.
