According to information from Smartprix, Xiaomi is researching a keyboard-less phone model codenamed Zhueque that is expected to launch next year in China. Accordingly, the upcoming smartphone model will replace physical keys with gesture control, pressure touch or voice commands.
Recently, the account @Einewill shared on the Chinese technology forum CoolAPK the prototype image of this phone. Accordingly, this phone belongs to the MIX series and has the code name "Wangshu".
Through the shared image, it can be seen that the MIX logo is printed on both the top and bottom of the device. Apart from the USB-C port and SIM slot, the device does not have any physical buttons. On this model, Xiaomi also applies a curved screen design to bring an impressive visual experience.
The source also revealed that Xiaomi tested this smartphone prototype 1.5 years ago but then canceled it. At that time, the device had a 2K+ resolution AMOLED LTPO screen, 120Hz refresh rate and a 4,500mAh battery. The device had a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, supported 200W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
Recent rumors suggest that Xiaomi's new smartphone may be equipped with a new generation of under-screen selfie camera, integrated with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 processor - an improved version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, likely to be launched in October, similar to Xiaomi 15S Pro (likely to be launched next year).
The source also revealed that Xiaomi may only introduce Zhueque with the purpose of showing off technology, not focusing on sales. The product is aimed at technology lovers with limited quantity similar to Meizu Zero - the world's first phone without buttons.
