As the political, economic and cultural center of Quang Tri province, Dong Ha City has a large number of electricity customers and the annual electricity consumption is the highest in the province. Currently, there are 32,000 electricity customers in the city, so the management, operation and electricity business are always under great pressure, especially during peak periods such as holidays and Tet, when the demand for electricity always increases. Therefore, ensuring a safe and continuous electricity supply is the core task of Dong Ha Electricity.

Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 110/QTPC-KT dated January 10, 2024 of Quang Tri Power Company on strengthening measures to supply electricity to ensure the celebration of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024, Dong Ha Power Company has developed a plan to strengthen the power grid to serve the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin to ensure safe, continuous and reliable power supply for electricity customers.
First, the unit conducts day/night inspections at key locations such as circuit breakers, load switches, disconnectors, fuses at the beginning of the line, underground cable locations, contact points, other equipment on the line at feeders 471, 472, 473, 474, 475, 476, 477, 478, 487 DHA, 485 DHA and low-voltage branch feeders in the management area using thermal cameras during the inspection process and implemented on the basis of the field inspection program.
Adjust the main circuit breaker and feeder circuit breaker at public transformer stations to step 1 before February 8, 2024. Check all circuit breaker control cabinets and load switches on the grid, quickly replace damaged batteries to ensure flexibility in grid operation. Follow the dispatching order to cut off medium voltage capacitor banks on the grid; cut off all low voltage capacitor banks at transformer stations and low voltage spread capacitor banks on the grid before February 8, 2024.
Coordinate with the Line and Transformer Management Team to conduct periodic day/night inspections before Tet on the entire medium and low voltage grid under management. Register for sudden power outages to handle existing issues, supervise techniques and safety during the implementation of the work. Organize grid inspections and thoroughly handle contact points at transformers, main circuit breakers, line steering positions, medium and low voltage clamps at branch ends, clamps down to transformer stations.
In particular, pay attention to the work of clearing the power grid corridor and thoroughly handle the remaining problems after the periodic inspection before Tet holiday to ensure technical safety for people and construction equipment. Check all fire extinguishers to ensure good operation when a fire or explosion occurs, especially the fire extinguishers at the production team, the MDF Wood Factory transformer station and at the mobile light tower.
In addition, the unit also strengthens inspection and handling of contacts at places where cultural, artistic and entertainment activities often take place such as Le Duan Park transformer station, Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center... After inspection, focus on handling arising problems and have a plan to prioritize power supply at places where major political, social and cultural activities take place in the area.
Plan to arrange reasonable staff on duty 24/7 to ensure power supply, handle incidents, ensure security, fire prevention and safety, and quickly repair the power grid during the 2024 Lunar New Year. Clean and maintain 30 kVA and 250 kVA generators and mobile light towers ready to serve when required. Fully reserve materials and equipment to ensure timely supply when incidents occur. Arrange a reasonable schedule for meter reading and electricity bill collection to ensure that business operations are not affected and to avoid causing inconvenience to customers.
In particular, the solution to provide new electricity to customers must be implemented quickly and in accordance with regulations so that customers have electricity to use during Tet. Arrange reasonable staffing for Tet, all officers and employees must wear full protective clothing according to regulations and personal tools, and be on time for their assigned shifts.
Deputy Director of Dong Ha Electricity Tran Hoai Phuong said: "Determining that ensuring electricity supply to serve customers during holidays and Tet is a particularly important task, in the past time, the unit has synchronously deployed many solutions to enhance the operational capacity of the power system to serve the needs of daily life, entertainment, as well as ensuring electricity for production and business activities in the city.
However, in addition to the drastic implementation of the electricity industry, it is necessary for each citizen to join hands and contribute to raising awareness of safe and economical electricity use. This will help customers reduce costs, while contributing to significantly reducing pressure on the electricity system during peak days such as the upcoming Giap Thin New Year.
