In October 2024, the Commune Women's Union coordinated with the Commune People's Committee to organize a conference on policy dialogue on poverty reduction, gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children in the ethnic minority areas. The preparation work was planned and the program was developed by the Commune Women's Union and worked specifically with the heads of the Women's Union branches in the commune. The women were eagerly waiting for the conference to be held. Some performances were also carefully rehearsed.

On the day of the conference, the presence of representatives of the government, the Party Committee of the commune and local departments, branches and organizations was a great encouragement for the women. Many women boldly raised questions, presented their opinions, thoughts and legitimate aspirations, such as: Benefits from Project 8; effective prevention and control of child marriage and incestuous marriage; What procedures should ethnic minorities follow to borrow preferential loans for production?...

The questions were answered clearly, easily and thoroughly by representatives of the Party Committee, local authorities and judicial and civil status officials, helping women better understand the Party's policies and guidelines, the State's policies and laws, and especially related policies in the area where women are beneficiaries.

Chairwoman of the Minh Hoa District Women's Union Dinh Thi Ngoc Le said that since Project 8 was implemented in the area, the District Women's Union has actively implemented policy dialogue. This is because this is one of the important contents of Project 8 to ensure the voice, role and real participation of women in socio-economic development activities at the grassroots level and to monitor the implementation of gender equality in the implementation of the national target program. The policy dialogue conferences have always attracted a large number of women to participate and brought about remarkable results. During the implementation process, the District Women's Union has also closely followed, cared and provided timely direction and support.

According to the representative of the provincial Women's Union, the policy dialogue aims to ensure the voice and real participation of women and children in the socio-economic development activities of the community, monitoring and criticism; supporting women to participate in leadership in the political system. The dialogues took place in an open, receptive, frank, respectful, listening and acknowledging spirit of the opinions of cadres, members and women. Representatives of the leadership of the government, departments, branches, unions and all levels of the union gave specific answers, enthusiastic guidance and took note to make proposals and recommendations to the competent authorities.

After the dialogue, the associations at all levels continued to promote the results of the conference to a large number of women and closely followed the reality, clearly understood the thoughts and aspirations of women's association members to promptly advise and propose to the Party committees and local authorities for timely resolution. In the coming time, policy dialogues will continue to be organized with content that is close to reality, effective and widely spread, suitable for the requirements of the new situation.
