An Ninh Commune Agricultural Service Cooperative (Quynh Phu) effectively performs service stages, actively contributing to the development of local agricultural production.

No more fallow fields thanks to synchronous mechanization in production

An Ninh commune has a cultivated land area of ​​over 360 hectares. With the direct role of managing the development of agricultural production, in recent times, the commune's Agricultural Service Cooperative has always performed well in service stages, organized and strictly implemented the production project for each crop, so the commune's agricultural production in recent years has always been at the top of the district in terms of productivity, quality and value. This is also a bright spot of the collective economic sector with creative and drastic measures to restore production and eliminate fallow fields.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, Director of the Cooperative, said: To gradually reduce and eventually eliminate abandoned fields, the Cooperative staff contributed capital to buy tilling machines and transplanting machines to serve farmers and to clean the fields, restoring abandoned fields. After the first effective crop, the Cooperative handed over the fields to individuals who actively produced and provided free services for 2 years to encourage them to continue farming. The Cooperative continued to restore other areas.

This approach has been highly appreciated by local authorities and Party committees. From 2022 to the spring crop of 2023, cooperative officials have restored and handed over over 30 hectares of fields to farmers, motivating some individuals with conditions to boldly rent, borrow, and invest in machinery for large-scale production. Up to now, the whole commune has 21 households renting, borrowing fields, and accumulating an area of ​​2 hectares or more; the total rented and borrowed area is nearly 140 hectares. Currently, An Ninh commune has no more abandoned, uncultivated areas.

The whole commune has 15 transplanters, 16 tillers, 2 combine harvesters, 2 pesticide spraying drones. In addition, during peak seasons, if there is a shortage of machines, the cooperative will connect with units in the province to provide services at each stage of production, avoiding the situation where farmers miss their crop schedules.

Cultivating 1.5 hectares of rice fields, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tho, Van Phuc village, does not have to worry about product output because the cooperative buys fresh rice right in the fields.

Building a linked field

Not only does it have creative and effective ways of operating and producing, since 2022, the Cooperative has built 2 production linkage fields with a total area of ​​nearly 51 hectares, with 309 participating households. The entire production process is strictly controlled from the seed stage to the harvesting stage. In addition to supplying fertilizers and agricultural materials, the Cooperative also guides members on how to manage the fields. Thereby, gradually changing the old, fragmented, traditional production mindset, building the brand of Gianh village rice, recognized as a 3-star OCOP product. Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, Director of the Cooperative shared: Participating in the linkage model, all costs such as fertilizer, land preparation machine services, transplanting, harvesting... are 10 - 30% lower than free production. After purchasing rice from the people, the cooperative will dry, process, package and sell Gianh village rice in provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh... The cooperative is also the first unit to have a point of introduction and sale of OCOP products. On average, each year, the unit consumes about 50 - 70 tons of rice.

Cultivating 1.5 hectares of rice fields, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tho, Van Phuc village, does not have to worry about product output because the cooperative buys fresh rice right at the field. Ms. Tho shared: Thanks to the cooperative rice cultivation, we have reduced many costs. More importantly, people do not have to worry about product output. When the harvest comes, the harvester arrives, the cooperative buys rice right at the field, people only need to stand on the bank to weigh the rice, and get money "in one lump", so everyone is very excited and confident to continue the cooperation in the next crops.
