Tourism services at Huong Tich Pagoda are "sluggish"

Kinhtedothi - The number of visitors and worshippers at the beginning of the new Spring of At Ty at Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area (Thien Loc Commune, Can Loc District, Ha Tinh Province) has decreased significantly compared to previous years, causing tourism services here to be "sluggish".

Many electric cars have been waiting for passengers for a long time, but still no passengers have gone to Huong Tich Pagoda.

Many times the tourist tram stop is deserted.

"In previous years, tourists taking the tram were very busy, lining up in long lines to get on the bus. But this year, except for the days from January 4-6 when there were quite a lot of tourists, the rest of the tourists were very few, some days each bus only operated 4-5 trips," said Mr. Hoang Trong Phong, a tram driver at Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area.

The Nha Duong Lake boat dock currently has 8 motorboats, but only a few are operating, the rest are waiting for customers.

There are parasailing boats in operation but only 3 passengers on the Tang Dynasty Lake cruise.

Marina is deserted, boat owners take advantage of maintenance and upgrade of motorboats

"The number of tourists on Nha Duong Lake has decreased by about 30% compared to previous years. Meanwhile, this year we were given 170 million VND in budget, which has caused many difficulties due to the cost of fuel, driver rental, maintenance, boat repair... There were times when only a few people bought tickets, but we could not let the guests wait long so we still had to take them on cruises," said Mr. Le Ngoc Loi, the owner of Nha Duong Lake boat dock.

"There are too few tourists, the cruise service on Nha Duong Lake is facing many difficulties, not as expected. I have been sailing the boat since the 4th day of Tet, but now I have to quit my job to go home to work and produce. If things go well in the future, I may continue to take cruise passengers," said Mr. Nguyen Trong Thanh (the man wearing the hat).

The ticket office selling tickets to visit Huong Tich Pagoda is very deserted.

Some accompanying services during the festival season at Huong Tich Pagoda have not been exploited and promoted effectively.

There are days when the weather is quite favorable, but the road to Huong Tich pagoda is only sparsely populated with locals and tourists.

Some agricultural products made by local people are displayed along the way to the temple but are also very difficult to sell because there are no buyers.

According to statistics from the Management Board of Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area, from the Lunar New Year of At Ty until now, there have been about 320,000 visitors coming to visit, worship, pray for peace, happiness, and smooth sailing.

Tourists and pilgrims are mostly crowded on the 4th-6th of January. On the remaining days, there are few visitors, so tourism services face difficulties, greatly affecting revenue.

"The number of tourists visiting and worshiping at Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area has decreased, the reason is determined to be due to difficult economic conditions; the weekends are rainy and cold, not favorable for praying for peace, visiting and enjoying the pagoda. Besides, the need for spiritual activities may change, tourists will choose a suitable day to travel. In the difficult context of tourism service enterprises, the unit always shares, accompanies and hopes that tourism activities will be more vibrant in the coming time", said a representative of the Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area Management Board.
