(Dan Tri) - As the youngest associate professor from Ho Chi Minh City in 2024, Dr. Dang Hoang Phu was also the youngest person in the country to win the Golden Globe science award in 2018 at the age of only 29.
The University of Science (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) has just held a ceremony to honor 12 teachers who were appointed and reappointed to the titles of professor and associate professor.
In 2024 alone, this school will have 7 teachers recognized as meeting the standards of professor and associate professor.

Three teachers were appointed to the title of professor by the University of Natural Sciences, including Dr. Mai Hoang Bien, Dr. Tran Van Hieu and Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan.
Four teachers were appointed to the title of associate professor, including Dr. Le Duc Hung, Dr. Dang Hoang Phu, Dr. Nguyen Duong Tam Anh and Dr. Vo Si Trong Long.
In this list, Dr. Dang Hoang Phu, a lecturer in the Chemistry Department, is also the youngest person from Ho Chi Minh City to be appointed to the title of associate professor in 2024.
Notably, in 2018, at the age of 29, Dr. Dang Hoang Phu was also the youngest scientist in the country to win the Golden Globe Award organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
Mr. Dang Hoang Phu, born in 1989, is from Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City. Dr. Dang Hoang Phu's studies and work are both associated with the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University).
In 2011, he received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) majoring in chemistry, specializing in organic chemistry.
In 2014 and 2020, Mr. Phu received his master's and doctorate degrees, respectively, from the University of Science (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City).
During his work, Dr. Dang Hoang Phu published 119 scientific articles and 4 scientific reports, of which 72 were scientific articles in prestigious international journals.

Mr. Phu also guided 5 graduate students to successfully defend their master's theses and completed many scientific research topics at the basic level and above.
Dr. Dang Hoang Phu's research directions include studying the chemical composition of Vietnamese plants in the direction of screening biological activities and researching the synthesis of derivatives of natural compounds in the direction of increasing cancer cell toxicity.
