President Yoon Suk Yeol expressed his pleasure at meeting Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh again and warmly welcomed the Prime Minister's official visit.
For his part, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam supports major policies of Korea and is ready to continue to closely coordinate so that Vietnam and Korea can achieve even greater success.
The Prime Minister also informed President Yoon Suk Yeol about the important results that the two sides achieved during the talks between the two prime ministers, including major orientations. promote the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to continue to develop more deeply, substantially and effectively.
The Prime Minister suggested that the two sides continue to maintain and enhance high-level delegation exchanges and all-level delegation exchanges; continue to regularly implement existing cooperation mechanisms in the fields of diplomacy, defense and security, in accordance with the level of comprehensive strategic partnership.
The two leaders agreed to cooperate closely to deepen economic relations and bring them to practical effectiveness, thereby contributing to achieving the bilateral trade turnover target of 100 billion USD by 2025 and towards the target of 150 billion USD by 2030.
The head of the Vietnamese Government suggested that the two sides cooperate to encourage Korean enterprises to increase investment in the fields of semiconductors, digital transformation, green transformation, and biotechnology.
In particular, it is proposed that the Korean Government increase investment in projects with high technology content and high added value; cooperate in training human resources in the fields of semiconductors, hydrogen and artificial intelligence (AI).
The Prime Minister also proposed promoting loans through the US$2 billion Economic Development Promotion Fund (EDPF) and non-binding loan conditions for US$2 billion Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) loans to develop strategic infrastructure such as building high-speed railways.
President Yoon Suk Yeol said that Korean businesses consider Vietnam a potential investment destination. Many businesses have invested in Vietnam and created a favorable investment ecosystem.

President Yoon Suk Yeol suggested that the Vietnamese Government create favorable conditions for Korean enterprises to participate in key projects, including energy and LNG projects. Mr. Yoon Suk Yeol also affirmed that he will support human resource training for Vietnam to serve the development of the semiconductor and high-tech industries; and the development of the cultural industry.
The two sides agreed to expand cultural, educational and tourism cooperation, enhance cooperation between localities and people-to-people exchanges to create connections and understanding between the people of the two countries. In addition, they will closely cooperate to protect the legitimate rights of citizens of each country in the other country, help them stabilize their lives and stay safe; and pay attention to supporting Vietnamese-Korean multicultural families.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President Yoon Suk Yeol agreed to continue close cooperation and mutual support in international and regional forums of mutual interest; continue to strengthen cooperation within ASEAN frameworks such as ASEAN - Korea, Mekong - Korea.
President Yoon Suk Yeol highly appreciated Vietnam’s excellent performance as the coordinator of ASEAN-ROK relations and suggested continuing to support the upgrading of ASEAN-ROK relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership. He welcomed the stance of Vietnam and ASEAN on the East Sea issue, contributing to maintaining peace, stability and development in the region.

Meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at noon on July 2, Chairman of the Korea Global Innovation Research Association Kim Jin Pyo, former Speaker of the Korean National Assembly, highly appreciated the drastic and effective direction and management of the Vietnamese Government and the strong development of the Vietnamese economy in recent times. GDP growth in 2024 could reach 6%, the highest in the region.
