After an unsuccessful Euro 2024, De Bruyne quickly made a decision about his future. Although he still had a year left on his contract with Man City, the Belgian player decided to leave the team.

De Bruyne's destination is likely to be Al-Ittihad Club in Saudi Arabia. According to British press, the star born in 1991 has agreed personal terms to join the top team in Saudi Arabia.
De Bruyne's salary at the new club has not been revealed but it will certainly be higher than his current income at Man City. Currently, this midfielder is the highest paid in the Premier League with 20.8 million pounds a year.
Now, Al-Ittihad Club will negotiate the transfer fee with Man City. It is possible that the amount they spend is not too high when De Bruyne only has one year left on his contract.
If he goes to Al-Ittihad, De Bruyne will work with coach Laurent Blanc. Besides, he will be teammates with a series of famous stars in Europe such as N'Golo Kante, Karim Benzema and Fabinho.
De Bruyne made no secret of his desire to play in Saudi Arabia for money: "I still have a year left on my contract with Man City. I still have to think about what will happen. My eldest son is 8 years old. He knows nothing about the world outside England. He also asked me how long I will play for Man City. When the right time comes, I think I need to resolve my future soon.

At this age, I have to be open to everything. I'm talking about huge amounts of money in the last chapter of my career. Sometimes you have to think about it. If I play in Saudi Arabia for two years, I can earn an incredible amount of money. Even 15 years in Europe wouldn't have earned me that much money."
De Bruyne admitted that he talked a lot with his wife Michele Lacroix about the possibility of leaving Man City. His wife is said to accept De Bruyne's "strange adventure".
