Investing nearly 1,000 billion VND to upgrade 5.5 km of National Highway 37 through Hai Duong
The section of National Highway 37 within the scope of the Project in Chi Linh City, Hai Duong Province will be upgraded to meet the standards of a grade III plain road with 4 motor vehicle lanes.

The Ministry of Transport has just sent an official dispatch to the Ministry of Planning and Investment reporting on the proposed investment policy for the project to upgrade National Highway 37 from National Highway 18 to An Linh intersection.
This project aims to meet the transportation needs on the route; reduce traffic congestion and accidents; gradually complete the national highway system according to the plan; contribute to the socio-economic development of Chi Linh city in particular and Hai Duong province in general.
The project starts at the intersection with National Highway 18 in Sao Do Ward, Chi Linh City (about Km87+403 of National Highway 37), and ends at An Linh intersection in Cong Hoa Ward, Chi Linh City (about Km92+900 of National Highway 37). The total length of the project route is about 5.5 km.
According to the proposal, the project has a scale of investment of 4 lanes, standard of level III plain road (TCVN 4054:2005). The total estimated investment of the project is about 998.5 billion VND invested from the central budget.
Because the capital in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025 of the Ministry of Transport has been fully allocated and cannot be arranged for the Project, the Ministry of Transport requests the Ministry of Planning and Investment to consider and balance from legal capital sources to report to competent authorities for early implementation of the project.
Project implementation plan depends on capital arrangement capacity, project completion after 24 months from the date of capital identification.
It is known that National Highway 37, section Km81+750 – Km99+680, is about 18.62 km long and is located in Chi Linh City, Hai Duong Province (the previous route was Km77+850 – Km93+839, but the route has now been changed in the field).
Currently, the section from Km87+403 – Km99+680 has an average roadbed width of 7.5 – 9 m; the average road surface width is from 5.5m – 7 m (the section from Km87+822 – Km88+607 through Truong Linh Urban Area has a roadbed width of 64 m; the road surface is 9 m wide); the asphalt concrete road surface has degraded, unable to meet transportation needs, especially during the Con Son – Kiep Bac festival season.
