The Ministry of Transport has just approved adjustments to the Master Plan for the development of the national airport and seaport system for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.


Accordingly, Gia Binh International Airport is added to the National Airport System Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

The port is of level 4E scale, located in Bac Ninh province with an expected land area of ​​about 363.5 hectares. By 2030, the expected design capacity is about 1 million passengers/year and about 3 million passengers/year with a vision to 2050.

In the period 2021 - 2030, the estimated investment cost according to the planning is about 17,682 billion VND and about 12,083 billion VND with a vision to 2050.

With the addition of Gia Binh International Airport to the planning, the capital investment demand for airport system development by 2030 has also been adjusted to about VND 438,000 billion, mobilized from the state budget, non-budgetary capital and other legal capital sources.

The expected land area occupied by the master plan for the airport system by 2030 is about 24,195 hectares.

Previously, the Ministry of Transport approved the task of planning Gia Binh Airport for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

The development plan of Gia Binh Airport ensures compliance with the development strategy of Vietnam's aviation transport, closely linked with the development plan of other transport sectors and related plans.

At the same time, ensure national interests, contribute to promoting socio-economic development of Bac Ninh province.

The planning objective is to plan and arrange reasonable space to ensure the development of Gia Binh Airport to meet the needs of serving private aircraft, suitable for the needs of transporting goods and passengers, as well as to research and propose a suitable investment roadmap.

Planning must comply with planning laws, civil aviation laws; national civil aviation standards and standards and recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Ensure national defense and security, safe operations and feasibility.
