On February 17, Tien Phong 's source said that the Criminal Police Team, Mang Yang District Police, Gia Lai) is detaining Dang Van Them (38 years old, residing in Nhon Tan village, Dak Ta Ley commune, Mang Yang district) to investigate the act of "Property destruction".
At the police station, Mr. Them admitted to his crime. Initially, Mr. Them confessed that due to conflicts over money and love, he had the idea of cutting down the coffee and pepper garden of Ms. Giang Phuong Thanh (temporarily residing in Nhon Tho village, Dak Ta Ley commune, Mang Yang district, Gia Lai). It is known that Mr. Them is Ms. Thanh's cousin-in-law.
As Tien Phong reported, around March 2024, Ms. Thanh from Lam Dong went to Dak Ta Ley commune to buy more than 1 hectare of orchard to do business and make a living with a sum of more than 400 million VND. However, on the morning of February 12, she went to the garden and was shocked to discover that 35 coffee trees, 4 durian trees, and 200 pepper trees that were in harvest had been chopped down and sawed off by thieves. The estimated damage was about 300 million VND.
After that, Ms. Thanh reported to the police to investigate. However, by the evening of February 13, more trees in this woman's coffee garden continued to be destroyed.
