TPO - After the merger between the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Construction, the total number of units of the new Ministry of Construction will be reduced from 42 to 23. The new Ministry of Construction will use two headquarters at 37 Le Dai Hanh - Hai Ba Trung and 80 Tran Hung Dao - Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.
In Submission No. 11 recently sent to the Government on the draft Decree regulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Construction (after the merger between the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Transport), Mr. Tran Hong Minh - Minister of Transport - said that before the merger, the total number of focal points of the two ministries was 42 units, of which the Ministry of Construction had 19 units, the Ministry of Transport had 23 units (not including the Department of Enterprise Management and the Department of Transport Health).
After the arrangement and merger, there are 23 units, including: Office - merged from 2 ministries; Inspectorate - merged from 2 ministries; Department of International Cooperation - merged from 2 ministries; Department of Legal Affairs - merged from 2 ministries; Department of Organization and Personnel - merged from 2 ministries; Department of Financial Planning - merged from Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Finance under the Ministry of Transport and Department of Financial Planning under the Ministry of Construction.

The Academy of Strategy and Training of Construction Cadres was merged from the Academy of Construction and Urban Management Cadres under the Ministry of Construction, the School of Transport Management Cadres and the Institute of Transport Strategy and Development under the Ministry of Transport.
Construction Newspaper merged Construction Newspaper under the Ministry of Construction and Transport Newspaper under the Ministry of Transport; Construction Magazine - merged Construction Magazine under the Ministry of Construction and Transport Magazine under the Ministry of Transport. Information Technology Center merged from Information Center under the Ministry of Construction and Information Technology Center under the Ministry of Transport.

The Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Transport have agreed to initially use both headquarters at 37 Le Dai Hanh and 80 Tran Hung Dao. In the future, the Ministry of Construction will build its headquarters in the West Lake area - the planned area for the system of working headquarters of ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government, and central agencies of organizations in Hanoi until 2030.
Speaking to Tien Phong reporter , a leader of the Ministry of Construction confirmed that after the merger, the headquarters of the two ministries will still be used. In particular, the departments under the Ministry of Construction that were not merged before, such as the State Appraisal Department of Construction Quality, the Department of Urban Development and the Department of Housing and Real Estate Market Management, will work at the old headquarters of the Ministry of Construction at 37 Le Dai Hanh.
Deputy Ministers of Construction, who are assigned to be in charge of different areas, will move to work at the headquarters of the Ministry of Transport at 80 Tran Hung Dao. Conversely, the merged Departments between the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Transport will work at the headquarters of the old Ministry of Construction.
In Submission No. 11 to the Government, the Ministry of Transport proposed and recommended that the Government and the Prime Minister soon assign staffing to port authorities under the Ministry of Transport, so that these units can operate in accordance with their legal status and state management tasks as prescribed by law. In particular, early assignment of administrative staffing to the Vietnam Register (in the immediate future, administrative staffing for the staff block assisting the Director).
