On January 14, the People's Committee of Tu Mo Rong district, Kon Tum province held a ceremony to receive the decision of the provincial People's Committee to recognize Tu Tho resettlement village as a community tourism village. At the same time, the district also successfully auctioned 3.6 kg of Ngoc Linh national treasure.
More than 5 years ago, the Xo Dang people in Tu Tho village (Te Xang commune, Tu Mo Rong district) had to live in dangerous conditions on the hillsides at risk of landslides. To ensure the people's livelihood, the local government built the Tu Tho resettlement village.
After 5 years, the lives of Tu Tho villagers have changed positively. Currently, the village has 164 households, of which 18.9% are poor. Many solid houses have been built at a cost of 200-800 million VND.
Tu Tho has attracted about 5,000 tourists to visit and admire the Ngoc Linh ginseng gardens of the Xo Dang people. Realizing the tourism potential, the People's Committee of Tu Mo Rong district has encouraged people to build accommodation, participate in tourism training courses and establish gong and culinary teams.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Tu Mo Rong district organized an auction of 3.6 kg of Ngoc Linh ginseng, a precious medicinal herb known as a "national treasure", donated by a number of households. The auction took place openly and transparently with the presence of local people, raising more than 580 million VND.
This money will be used to build a long house for the Xo Dang people in the Tu Tho resettlement village to serve tourists and to restore the long house in Mo Pa village, Dak Ha commune, Tu Mo Rong district.
