The information that Hoa Phat Group Chairman Tran Dinh Long gave at the 2024 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, which took place last weekend, received many comments. Many opinions raised the issue that it was too difficult for Vietnamese enterprises, which are behind in this market, both in terms of technology and experience. Even Mr. Long admitted that this was difficult, costly and time-consuming.

"But we still try to do it and can participate in bidding and supply products if there is an opportunity," Mr. Long told Hoa Phat shareholders.

The opportunity that Mr. Long mentioned is the North-South high-speed railway project, with a total investment capital of up to 70 billion USD, for which the Government is focusing on researching the optimal solution to be able to approve the investment policy in 2025, start construction in 2030 and complete the entire 1,545 km long route in 2045.
