On November 21, at the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Provincial OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council organized the evaluation and classification of OCOP products in 2024.

This evaluation round has 18 product profiles of 8 entities, in 7 participating districts, of which 6 products participated in the first evaluation; 11 products were re-evaluated, 1 product was upgraded. The products are concentrated in the food industry including: 13 processed food products; 2 spice products; 3 fresh food products.
Through the actual evaluation and classification of products, the diversity and richness of raw materials have been demonstrated, promoting the advantages of local specialties. In addition, producers are interested in improving quality, improving product design and packaging, and ensuring production conditions according to regulations. Many products have been promoted by producers on e-commerce sites or websites, social networks, thereby creating opportunities to expand the market to other provinces and reach a wide range of customers.
Members of the Provincial OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council commented and gave suggestions to OCOP entities whose products participated.
At the conference, the council members discussed, reviewed and commented on the product profiles with contents such as: Organizational structure, form of operation, product manufacturing conditions, packaging, labeling, market, distribution system and trade promotion of each product... The subjects whose products participated in the evaluation clarified and supplemented the criteria that had not been met. After that, the council discussed and scored the products according to the prescribed criteria.
As a result, 15 products have met the 4-star OCOP standards; 1 5-star OCOP product and 1 product continues to complete its profile to ensure it is eligible for 5-star OCOP recognition. In addition, there is 1 product that does not meet the conditions for 4-star OCOP recognition, the Advisory Council will send a document to the District People's Committee as a basis for recognizing 3-star OCOP products.
