(NLDO) – While eating hot pot in a restaurant, a gas tank exploded, causing burns to 2 female teachers and 7 students in Long An.

On the evening of January 12, information from the Long An Department of Education and Training said that early this afternoon, some teachers and students at Bac Hoa Primary and Secondary School, Tan Thanh District (Long An) finished organizing cultural and artistic activities and went to a restaurant in Tan Thanh town to have lunch.

While eating hot pot, a gas tank in the hot pot stove suddenly exploded, causing 2 female teachers and 7 students (2 elementary school students and 5 middle school students) to be burned.

Immediately afterwards, the remaining teachers and the shop owner quickly took the injured teachers and students to a medical facility for treatment, including an 8th grade student who was seriously injured and was transferred to Ho Chi Minh City Children's Hospital for emergency treatment.

Currently, the education sector is continuing to monitor the situation from families and monitor seriously ill students to coordinate handling.
