Lao Cai City People's Committee has just issued a plan to organize the Thuong Temple Festival in 2024 to ensure safety, civilization and economy.

Accordingly, the Thuong Temple Festival is held to promote the tradition of remembering the source of drinking water, arousing national pride; meeting the needs of enjoying spiritual cultural values ​​and spiritual life of the people and tourists. The Thuong Temple Festival is organized at the provincial level, directed by Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee and implemented by Lao Cai City People's Committee, and will take place at the Thuong Temple Area, Lao Cai Ward, Lao Cai City for three days, from February 22, 2024 to February 24, 2024 (ie from the 13th to the 15th of January, the year of the Dragon).

The opening ceremony will take place from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on February 24, 2024 (January 15) at the main stage of the Festival, where the epic about Thuong Temple will be recreated, performed by Hanoi Cheo Theater.

Thuong Temple has a history of more than 200 years, in Lao Cai city, worshiping the National Duke, Commander-in-Chief Hung Dao Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan - a man of great merit, commanded the victory over the Yuan-Mongol invaders in the 15th century and has long been honored as Duc Thanh Tran.

On the 15th day of the first lunar month every year, the Thuong Temple Spring Festival is solemnly held by Lao Cai city. In addition to the ceremony commemorating the great contributions of the National Duke, Commander-in-Chief of Hung Dao Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, there is also a festival with many cultural and sports activities attracting hundreds of thousands of local people and tourists from all over the country to attend.

This is the biggest Spring Festival in Lao Cai city and attracts many tourists from Hekou town (China) to join in the fun.

Thuong Temple was once granted a royal decree by the Nguyen Dynasty King. In 1996, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to recognize it as a national historical and cultural relic.
