Bustling market during Tet holiday
In recent days, the market for candies, jams, melon seeds, fruits, drinks, and food supplied for the year-end occasion, especially to serve people celebrating the New Year, has gradually become more vibrant.
At Ai Nghia and Nga Tu markets (Ai Nghia town, Dai Loc), mini supermarkets, etc., goods and food for Tet are sold with a wide variety of designs and types.
Dai Loc district has 1,346 establishments producing and trading food, catering services, street food and collective kitchens. Of these, there are 31 food production establishments (including establishments that both produce and trade), 90 food business establishments, 760 catering service establishments, 360 street food businesses, and 105 collective kitchens.
In 2024, the district's functional forces established 59 inspection and supervision teams, including 2 district-level inspection teams, 3 specialized supervision teams of the District Health Center, and 54 commune-level teams.
As a result, 966 establishments were inspected and examined, resulting in a fine for 1 establishment, warnings for 53 establishments, and food testing for 382 establishments.
On the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025, the inspection and examination of food safety and hygiene (FSH) is focused on by the authorities. The People's Committee of Dai Loc district also directed the establishment of interdisciplinary inspection teams of the district with the coordination of functional departments such as: Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Economy - Infrastructure, District Police, District Medical Center, etc.
The District People's Committee assigned units and interdisciplinary inspection teams to actively inspect, monitor, and punish violations. At the same time, it directed localities in 18 communes/towns to step up propaganda work, grasp and strictly manage the implementation of regulations on food safety and hygiene.
Strengthen control and handling
According to Mr. Pham Duy Hoan - Deputy Director of Dai Loc District Medical Center, under the direction of the District People's Committee, the unit has strengthened coordination with the interdisciplinary inspection force in the field of food safety and hygiene to inspect, remind, handle and prevent food poisoning from occurring in the area during Tet.
The District Health Center has also planned to strengthen inspection and supervision at food production and business establishments in the area, focusing on central markets and food service establishments.
At the same time, promote communication and education measures, raise awareness and clearly define the responsibilities of authorities at all levels, food producers, traders and consumers.
“Food safety work has received attention and direction from the District People's Committee and is identified as a very important population health target program.
Every year, the district organizes 2-3 rounds, establishes interdisciplinary inspection teams to step up food safety inspection, inspect, monitor, and track violations for handling. In general, the number of violations is not high.
The District Health Center also develops a plan for regular monitoring and supports food safety monitoring according to the assignment and decentralization of the Department of Health and the Food Safety Sub-Department," Mr. Hoan shared.
According to Mr. Dang Van Ky - Permanent Vice Chairman of Dai Loc District People's Committee, the District People's Committee has developed and directed the implementation of the Plan to deploy food safety assurance work for Lunar New Year and the spring festival season in 2025 in the district, in order to ensure food safety control in food production, processing, trading and use; strengthen control work, promptly prevent the production and trading of fake and poor quality food.
Ensure food safety in the market; minimize food poisoning incidents during Tet and spring festivals in 2025. Ensure development and healthy competition among food production, processing, trading, import and export establishments.
“The District People’s Committee directed the establishment of an interdisciplinary inspection team of the district to conduct inspections in communes and towns. The communes/towns also established an interdisciplinary team to inspect food production, processing and trading establishments in the area.
Along with inspection and examination work, the district also directed to promote communication work to managers, producers, traders and consumers about food production and trading according to the law, and food safety management at the festival site" - Mr. Ky shared.
