From July 11-15, in Binh Dinh province, the Seafood Food Festival and the OCOP Fair, Binh Dinh Province's Craft Villages were held.
The event is part of the 2024 Binh Dinh Land and Sea Quintessence Festival organized by the Department of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the province.
The event attracted 55 units and industries (restaurants, food businesses, OCOP products, traditional craft villages inside and outside the province) to participate with a scale of more than 100 booths.
The highlight of this event was the performance of Japanese chef Tatsuhiko Itano in butchering and filleting a tuna (weighing 50kg, 1.4m long).
From the tuna meat that has been butchered and filleted, talented chefs from Ho Chi Minh City and Japan will be free to create and prepare delicious, nutritious and unique dishes such as tuna salad and spicy coconut sauce; tuna curry with Tam Quan-Binh Dinh coconut; Matsuri Tekka (tuna sushi combo); tuna salad with sandwich; pan-fried tuna with potatoes; grilled tuna marinated with typical sauces with European, Japanese and Binh Dinh flavors.
Besides, there is also a cocktail mixing performance from Bau Da wine - a specialty of Binh Dinh with 5 different types such as Bau Da Mojito combining Bau Da wine and lemon juice, mint leaves, soda water, Mojito syrup, and sugar.

At the event, residents and visitors can interact with the chefs and grill tuna to their liking as well as sample these five unique cocktails.
Mr. Dang Ngoc Tan (residing in Quang Trung ward, Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province) said he was very excited to witness Japanese chef Tatsuhiko dissect and fillet tuna with small knives and swords with skillful movements and movements.
He eagerly waited to enjoy the delicious dishes prepared by Chef Kim Bernard Chilcott, Culinary Director of AL Fresco Group and Chef Ly Kim Long - top 100 World Chefs in 2023.
“I spent a lot of time watching the chefs mold giant pancakes with a diameter of up to 2m. This is the first time in my life I have seen such a big pancake and I want to enjoy it once. I hope there will be more festivals and fairs like this so that we have the opportunity to return to Quy Nhon in general and Binh Dinh in particular in the near future,” said Duong Minh Tu (from Quang Ngai province).
Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Dinh province, Nguyen Dinh Kha, informed that Binh Dinh tuna products are not only popular and consumed domestically but also exported to European countries.
Therefore, the province hopes that this event will contribute to widely promoting and creating a unique brand for Binh Dinh tuna; creating strengths to attract more and more tourists to the province; thereby, creating momentum for the locality to develop its socio-economy...
