The park will be located on the coastal land at the intersection of Vo Van Kiet and Vo Nguyen Giap streets, gathering all the dragon mascots of Tet Giap Thin for people and tourists to check-in.

On February 16, Mr. Phung Phu Phong, Director of the Department of Construction of Da Nang, said that he had advised the city leaders to build a dragon mascot park on the land northwest of Vo Van Kiet Street and Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Son Tra District. The land area of 2.8 hectares is planned for the Financial Center project. The Department of Construction proposed to reserve a part of the project land to concentrate the dragon mascot at the 2024 Tet decoration points here, creating a new check-in point.

"This land has not yet implemented a project, it is shabby and unsightly. If we build a dragon mascot park, in addition to creating a new destination, it will also significantly improve the coastal landscape," said Mr. Phong.

In the Year of the Dragon 2024, Da Nang's dragon mascots are quite diverse, such as a moving dragon statue that can breathe fire and water with sound and light at the tail of the Dragon Bridge; a 60-meter-long dragon at the head of the Dragon Bridge; 3 mascots with electric lighting effects; 100 eggs and baby dragons...

Before the Lunar New Year 2023, the cat mascots were donated to kindergartens after being displayed at spring flower decoration sites. This year, the dragon mascots are large and majestic, so according to the city's Department of Construction, it is difficult to arrange them in schools. Dragon statues are mainly made of wood or foam, steel frame, have a lifespan of 1-2 years, and can be easily repaired. The dragon mascot park is temporary while waiting for the completion of investment procedures for the Financial Center project.

For now, the city will place the ceramic dragon mascot at the T-shaped bridge until the end of 2024, after which it will choose another location for permanent display.
