Da Nang: Temporarily detained 2 subjects for illegal gun possession

On September 15, the Security Investigation Agency of Da Nang City Police prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Nhat Tan and Vo Le Hoang Tu to investigate the crime of "Illegal possession, transportation, and trading of military weapons".

According to the investigation, in September 2022, Nguyen Nhat Tan (24 years old, residing in Group 27, Thanh Khe Tay Ward, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang City) was drinking with his friend Le Van Sang (residence unknown). Here, Sang gave Tan a gun to keep as a souvenir.

After that, Tan was afraid that his family would find out, so he brought the gun to his friend Vo Le Hoang Tu's house (23 years old, living on Nguyen Phuoc Nguyen street, An Khe ward, Thanh Khe district).

In addition, through social networks, Tan also ordered 5 other guns along with some accessories and various types of bullets for collection.

On August 17, 2023, afraid that his family would discover the guns and ammunition while he was away, Tan brought them all to Tu's house to ask him to keep them.

On August 27, 2023, after being summoned to work on the case of disturbing public order, Tan confessed and went with the authorities to Tu's house to hand over the above guns, accessories and ammunition.

The case is under further investigation and clarification.
