Refunded more than 29,000 billion VND in value added tax

The above information was just announced by the Ministry of Finance on the afternoon of April 4. Of which, export tax refunds were 3,423 decisions with a total refund of VND 26,163 billion, accounting for 89% of the total refunded amount, equal to 106% compared to the refunded amount in the same period in 2024.

Refunds for investment projects are 159 decisions with a total refund amount of VND 2,925 billion, accounting for 10% of the total refunded amount, equal to 139% compared to the refunded amount in the same period in 2024.

Refunds for other cases are 123 decisions with a total refund of 148 billion VND, accounting for 1% of the total refunded amount, equal to 63% compared to the refunded amount in the same period in 2024.

According to classification, pre-refund records, 2,777 decisions were issued with a refund amount of VND 17,320 billion, accounting for 59% of the total refunded amount, equal to 106% compared to the refunded amount in the same period last year. The remaining number is pre-inspection records.

Regarding social insurance, it is estimated that in the first quarter of 2025, the Social Insurance of provinces and cities has resolved monthly benefits for 20,925 people, an increase of 36.27% over the same period in 2024; of which 15,396 people are pensioners, an increase of 52.03% over the same period last year.

248,895 people received one-time social insurance benefits, down 19.22% over the same period in 2024; of which, one-time social insurance was 197,659 people, down 26.04%. 2,103,706 people received sickness, maternity, and health recovery benefits, up 7.54%.

The number of people receiving one-time social insurance benefits has decreased, showing that workers have a clear understanding of their rights when participating for 15 years under the Social Insurance Law 2024.

Regarding unemployment insurance, it is estimated that in the first quarter of 2025, the insurance agency received 118,191 decisions on unemployment benefits paid, down 23.3% compared to the same period in 2024, and 3,081 decisions on vocational training support paid, down 33.7%.
