Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia Summit

The Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia Summit is an important event to consolidate and further strengthen the relationship between the three Parties and peoples of Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos, in the context of the world and regional situation continuing to develop complicatedly and all three Parties and countries entering a new stage of development.

On September 6, in Hanoi, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong , President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Samdech Techo Hun Sen and General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith had a high-level meeting between Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia, reported VNA.

This is an important event to further consolidate and strengthen the relationship between the three Parties and people of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia in the context of the complicated developments in the world and region and the three Parties and countries entering a new stage of development.

At the meeting, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, CPP President Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Lao People's Revolutionary Party General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith informed each other about the situation of each Party and each country, especially Party building and socio-economic development; discussed recent emerging world and regional situations and issues of mutual concern to the three parties; and assessed the results of cooperation between the three Parties and three countries in recent times.

The leaders of the three Parties agreed on major orientations for cooperation between the three Parties and three countries in various fields for the common interests of the three peoples in the coming time.

The three leaders congratulated the three countries on their important and comprehensive achievements, expressed their joy and assessed that the cooperation between the three Parties and peoples has been increasingly developing in depth and breadth in all fields. In particular, political relations have continued to be strengthened, defense and security cooperation has been effectively promoted, and economic, cultural, scientific, educational and technical cooperation has seen positive changes.

The three leaders of the three Parties continued to emphasize that the historical tradition of solidarity, closeness and mutual assistance between the three Parties and people of the three countries is a valuable asset, one of the most important factors, the greatest source of strength for the cause of national liberation and independence in the past as well as in the current cause of protecting and building the country of each Party and each country; at the same time, they affirmed to continue to propagate and educate the people of the three countries, especially the young generation, to preserve and foster the good relationship between Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Chairman of the CPP Samdech Techo Hun Sen and General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Thongloun Sisoulith agreed that in the current context, the three Parties and three countries need to strengthen solidarity, closely coordinate, support each other, continue to consider the relationship between the three Parties as the core, guiding the overall relationship between the three countries; consolidate the pillar of national defense and security, enhance cooperation in foreign affairs; create breakthroughs in economic cooperation, enhance cooperation in culture, education, science and technology, tourism, agriculture; further promote cooperation between Party and State agencies, the Fatherland Front, people's organizations and localities of the three countries, on the basis of promoting the potential and strengths of each country.

The three sides agreed to continue to promote the effectiveness of existing mechanisms and study the establishment of a number of new cooperation mechanisms to strengthen cooperation between the three Parties and three countries for the benefit of the three peoples, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
