During his visit to Vietnam, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez laid a wreath and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum; and laid a wreath at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs on Bac Son Street (Ba Dinh, Hanoi ).

At the meetings, talks and conferences, the Vietnamese leaders welcomed Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and the Spanish high-ranking delegation; affirmed the important significance of the first visit by the head of the Spanish Government since the two countries established diplomatic relations; and believed that the visit would open a new stage of development, bringing the Vietnam-Spain strategic partnership to new heights.
The Spanish Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome of the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam; affirmed that Vietnam is one of Spain's top priority partners in Southeast Asia; and agreed to upgrade the relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
In order to promote the potential and strengths of the two countries, to develop the Vietnam - Spain relationship more deeply and substantially, the two sides agreed to increase high-level visits and contacts; promote cooperation in defense - security, especially in training Vietnamese cadres and officers, defense industry, United Nations peacekeeping, overcoming the consequences of war in Vietnam, cyber security, fighting against terrorism, transnational crime, and illegal migration.
The leaders of the two countries agreed to continue to effectively implement and take advantage of the great opportunities of the Vietnam - European Union Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA); further deepen cooperation in the fields of defense - security, culture, sports and tourism, local cooperation, people-to-people exchange, education - training, especially training high-quality human resources in areas such as tourism, semiconductor industry, science and technology, etc.
The Vietnamese leader thanked the Spanish Prime Minister for urging the remaining European Union (EU) countries to soon ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA); as well as the European Commission (EC) to soon remove the yellow card against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing for Vietnam.
During the visit, the two sides issued a Joint Statement on the results of the official visit to Vietnam by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
Within the framework of his official visit to Vietnam, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and his delegation visited and worked in Ho Chi Minh City.
