Former President Barack Obama's first appearance at Harris's campaign rally on October 24 in Georgia marked the biggest "trump card" yet in the effort to unify the vote within the Democratic Party.

Although Obama initially took a stance against supporting Harris as a candidate to replace Biden, his efforts since early October 2024 when he launched a 27-day campaign to support Harris in "battleground" states have strengthened the spirit of unity of the Democratic Party to a new level. The joint appearance with Obama is one of a series of events in the strategy of mobilizing votes thanks to mass influencers (KOLs), which is a traditional advantage of the Democratic Party. Harris's campaign seems to have continuously mobilized the presence of famous artists when organizing election events in their hometowns. Typically, the recent presence of rapper Eminem in Detroit, Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts in the campaign in Georgia, ... and most recently, the appearance of country music legend Willie Nelson and singer Beyonce alongside Harris in Houston. In addition, the previous wave of support from pop star Taylor Swift, media queen Oprah Winfrey and a series of other Hollywood stars such as Meryl Streep, Bryan Cranston, Chris Rock and Jennifer Lopez... has strengthened the media appeal of Ms. Harris's campaign. This media advantage of the Democratic Party is considered superior when compared to the influence of KOL figures supporting Mr. Trump such as billionaire Elon Musk, Steve Wynn or boxing legend Mike Tyson. In return, figures like Mr. Elon Musk are helping Mr. Trump's side "go all in" in the race for financial capacity between super political action committees (PACs) - organizations that financially support each candidate's election campaign. Specifically, billionaire Musk's $43.6 million investment in America PAC alone has helped Mr. Trump's election campaign reduce the gap with Ms. Harris's fundraising record. Of which, FF PAC alone - the largest super political action committee supporting Ms. Harris - reported a huge fundraising of up to 89 million USD in the first half of October. And the final trump card comes from the effort to mobilize votes from the wavering voters right in the opponent's "home field" when Ms. Harris held an election event in Texas - a Republican stronghold. Although according to a New York Times poll, the support rate for Mr. Trump in Texas as of October 25 was only over half at 52%, Ms. Harris is maintaining a record fundraising level when raising up to 30 million USD, very close to Mr. Trump's 35 million USD and seems to be gradually closing the gap right in the Republican Party's "home field".

"Rear attack" strategy

Although Mr. Trump still used the aggressive "tit for tat" response as in early October when he repeatedly responded to Ms. Harris's personal criticisms with a series of similar words, many signs show that his campaign is deploying more of a "rear-attack" defense. This defensive strategy is demonstrated by Mr. Trump's decision to consolidate his influence right at home when he held a campaign in Texas around the same time as Ms. Harris, despite the fact that many polls showed that Ms. Harris was unlikely to win in this state. Of course, Mr. Trump had previously conducted a similar but ineffective campaign in California - a "stronghold" of the Democratic Party and also Ms. Harris's hometown. In addition, unlike his previous somewhat hot-tempered attitude, Mr. Trump is now showing a new stance by trying not to mention much about Republican politicians who are supporting Ms. Harris in order to deepen the division within the Republican Party. Trump even publicly said he was willing to pardon Hunter Biden (President Joe Biden's convicted son) as soon as he was re-elected as a rare show of clemency toward the Democratic Party. Trump's current ostentatious activities may be intended to cover up a "trump card" in the Republican Party's game. That is a quietly strengthening network of Republican donors and billionaires with a total investment of more than $140 million for a platform to monitor the integrity of the upcoming November 5 election to avoid controversial situations like four years ago. Therefore, it seems that both candidates Harris and Trump are deploying their "final moves" in the final sprint before the upcoming November 5 election. Harris's offensive strategy and Trump's defensive - rearguard tendency promise to create many dramatic developments, making the final result even more unpredictable.

Poll: Trump is leading

Although polls in the second half of October showed a tight balance with 49% of support divided equally between each candidate in all seven "battleground" states, a recent nationwide survey published by Forbes magazine in collaboration with HarrisX Strategy Consulting Company showed a slight 2 percentage point advantage for Mr. Trump (51 - 49).
