Flowers not enough to sell
This year, multi-colored raspberry chrysanthemums were successfully grown for the first time by farmers of the Tan An Ornamental Flower Cooperative, An Hoa Ward, Sa Dec City, with a quantity of more than 11,000 pots. Of which, about 3,000 pots were ordered to serve the first Sa Dec Flower - Ornamental Festival (December 30, 2023 - January 5, 2024), the remaining quantity was supplied to the market.
Mr. Dang Thanh Long (member of Tan An pineapple cooperative) happily said that this quantity of flowers is currently "sold out", many traders and customers came to visit and asked to buy more but regretted having to wait until Lunar New Year.
"Every gardener in the cooperative is excited because this year, many people bought multi-colored chrysanthemums, mostly thanks to the promotion from the Flower and Ornamental Festival. The flowers are popular because of their bright colors, sturdy stems, high resistance to falling, low loss rate, and cost savings.
Currently, this type of chrysanthemum has colors of red, orange-red, dark red, yellow, pink and purple. Planting and caring for it is not too complicated, from when the flowers bloom until they fade, it lasts more than a month," Mr. Long shared.
It is known that the selling price of each flower pot ranges from 180,000 to 200,000 VND. Currently, Mr. Long's family still has about 1,000 multi-colored raspberry chrysanthemum pots to supply for the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin and it is not impossible that the price of flowers will increase.
In addition, at Mr. Long's garden, some flowers are still displayed for visitors to visit and take photos for free during the Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival.
Traveling more than a hundred kilometers to visit the flowers, Ms. Dang Bich Huyen (Dong Nai province) shared: "I came to Sa Dec when the weather was hot but had to go to this flower field with my family to take pictures. I planned to buy more flowers to decorate the house but unfortunately the flowers were out of stock. Anyway, I am very happy that flower farmers are doing well in business."
Ms. Le Thi Tho (Can Tho City) said: "Before that, I contacted to order some flowers for my family but there were no more. Arranging free time for Tet holiday, my family and I came here to visit and felt very happy because there was still a chance to see colorful flowers blooming."
According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Nhan - Chairman of An Hoa Ward People's Committee - the locality always encourages farmers to apply new techniques, research to diversify ornamental flower varieties and invest in irrigation systems, applying digitalization. Multi-colored raspberry chrysanthemums launched by Tan An Pineapple Cooperative this year are a breakthrough direction.
