On February 21, the Office of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee confirmed that it had issued a Decision signed by Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Thien - Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, on revoking the OCOP Product Certificate for 47 products of 27 entities. Of which, 44 products achieved 3 stars and 3 products achieved 4 stars.

The main reason is that these 47 products do not meet the mandatory criteria according to the spirit of the Prime Minister's Decision. Of which, 41 products did not participate in the assessment according to the 36-month period and 06 products participating in the re-assessment did not meet the mandatory criteria of 3-star OCOP products.

According to this Decision, these 47 products are not allowed to use the Vietnam OCOP certification mark and star ranking printed on the packaging and product brand identity.
It is known that according to Decision No. 148/QD-TTg dated August 20, 2019 of the Prime Minister on promulgating the set of criteria for evaluating and classifying OCOP, it is stipulated that the Certificate for OCOP products achieving from 3 to 5 stars is valid for 36 months from the date of issuance by the competent authority.

It is known that in recent times, Dong Thap has been the leading locality in the Mekong Delta in terms of attention, investment, and support for organizations and individuals to build certified products and develop OCOP products in the market. Therefore, the decision to revoke the OCOP product certificates for 47 products that do not meet the required standards is an affirmation that Dong Thap is determined to build, but also resolutely comply with legal regulations as well as maintain the brand and reputation of OCOP of the province in particular and the whole country in general.
