Vietnamese technology confidently goes out to the world

Along with global technology enterprises, Vietnamese enterprises such as Viettel Group, FPT or CMC... are racing to create innovative products to conquer customers around the world.

Present in many markets

At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 recently held in Barcelona - Spain, the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel) introduced products including 5G chipsets and Vi An - humans built with artificial intelligence (Human AI).

Accordingly, the 5G DFE chip, whose entire design process is mastered by Viettel engineers, is capable of calculating 1,000 billion calculations/second, meeting the common 5G standards of 3GPP - the Association of Organizations developing protocols for mobile telecommunications, equivalent to 5G chips of the world's top 10 semiconductor companies. At the same time, Viettel introduced AI applications for customer interaction, finance, and entertainment called Vi An. This is the first Human AI in Vietnam to create a new way of interaction. This Human AI can chat friendly and naturally with customers.

Also during MWC 2024, the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) announced the results after evaluating facial recognition technology of 133 solutions worldwide from July 2023. In 8 measurement categories, Viettel AI's technology reached the top 10 in 5 categories, such as non-frontal photos, low resolution, poor lighting. Of which, the highest ranking was top 4 in the facial recognition category at a 90-degree angle. Previously, in mid-December 2023, NIST announced that CMC Corporation's CIVAMS facial recognition solution was also in the world's top 12 when it surpassed 535 FaceID recognition solutions globally and developed by large units in Vietnam sent to NIST.

Viettel said that its 5G Private system has been completed and has an export contract to India. The Viettel Digital Finance platform is also exported to 7 foreign markets, many of which have high growth rates such as Mozambique (450%), Laos (244%), Haiti (232%), Timor Leste (139%), and Burundi (91%). The information security sector provided by Viettel is present in 4 international markets including Japan, Myanmar, Timor Leste, and Hong Kong (China).

FPT Corporation's revenue from overseas IT services officially surpassed the 1 billion USD mark, reaching 24,288 billion VND, up 28.4%. Digital transformation revenue from overseas markets reached 10,425 billion VND, up 42% over the same period, focusing on new technologies such as Cloud, AI/Data Analytics...

Meanwhile, with CMC, thanks to exporting technology services and solutions, this group has established more than 40 partners in the world such as Samsung, Dell, Microsoft, SAP... In the coming time, in the international market, CMC said it aims to become the leading information technology service provider in Asia and expand to other countries in Europe and the US.

The growth of enterprises in foreign markets has affirmed the position of Vietnamese technology on the world technology map.

Create breakthrough products

Within the framework of MWC 2024, Viettel IDC (a member of Viettel) and Radware - the world's leading company in cybersecurity - signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Accordingly, Viettel IDC will become the first security management service provider (MSSP) in Vietnam to meet international standards and join Radware's global monitoring system to provide and manage information security solutions on cloud platforms.

Mr. Dan Rodriguez, Vice President and General Director of Network Platform Group of Intel Corporation, expects: "The cooperation between Intel and Viettel can create breakthrough products and success in the global market".

Mr. Harri Holma, Senior Advisor at Nokia Technology Office, said that he has been working with Viettel in the field of 4G technology and will soon start switching to 5G technology. Within the framework of MWC 2024, Viettel also signed a memorandum of understanding on deploying API services under the Open Gateway initiative of the Global Mobile Operator Association - GSMA Open Gateway.

As for FPT, the company has expanded globally, present in 30 countries, including the most developed markets such as the US, Japan, Singapore, and Europe. The group is a partner of nearly 100 companies in the top 500 leading enterprises in the world and plays a consulting role in implementing digital transformation projects based on the latest technology with a scale of tens, even hundreds of millions of USD...

According to Mr. Le Ba Tan, Head of Technology Department of Viettel Group, the products Viettel brings to MWC 2024 use technologies such as AI, Big Data... mastered by Vietnamese engineers, developed thinking and successfully put into production - business networks such as 5G waves, 360 TV, AI virtual assistant...

In particular, for the first time at MWC, Viettel mobile network is running at the booth itself, with Viettel signal and logo, directly providing Vietnam's internet service during the conference taking place in Barcelona.

Motivation for small and medium enterprises to develop

According to an IT lecturer in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing technology products to the world will create favorable conditions for innovation, development and product competition. International experience helps businesses grasp market demand trends and be flexible in selecting products. That helps businesses increase their competitiveness and promote sustainable development.
