Announcement of additional enrollment targets for grade 10

According to the plan of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, from July 17 to 31, high schools will organize to receive direct applications from candidates who have confirmed their admission online. Schools will speed up the process of submitting direct admission applications and end on July 20, about 10 days earlier than planned.

Promoting digital transformation, this year, students admitted to public grade 10 schools in the city will confirm their admission online before going to school to submit their admission application. Through the system, the Department can grasp the number of students enrolling online at each school, many schools have a 100% admission rate.

After July 20, when schools stop accepting direct admission applications, the Department will announce additional enrollment targets for each school to be closer to reality.

Additional admission to grade 10 is only for students who have failed all 3 wishes (i.e. candidates who have passed one of the 3 wishes but did not enroll will not be able to register for the additional admission round).

At the same time, candidates must have a standard score higher than or equal to the third choice of the school (standard score of third choice at each school is higher than the second and first choices).

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, many students have applied to vocational schools and continuing education centers. If they are accepted in this additional round of admission, they can withdraw their applications to enroll in public grade 10.

Implementing two-phase enrollment is the most notable new point in the enrollment process for grade 10 public schools in Ho Chi Minh City for the 2024-2025 school year. Accordingly, after the end of the official enrollment period, the Department will organize a supplementary enrollment period for schools that do not meet their enrollment quota.

In the 2023-2024 school year, Ho Chi Minh City will conduct additional public grade 10 enrollment for the first time, after many schools failed to meet enrollment targets due to many admitted students not enrolling. Of the 3,900 additional enrollment targets, the city was only able to enroll about 1,000 more students.
