On March 3, Ben Thanh Ward Police, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City said they had invited 9 people involved in the coffin parade at Ben Thanh Market to work.
Among these 9 people is the owner of the Tiktok account who posted the clips, identified as TMT (26 years old, living in District 6).
The group admitted to carrying a coffin with the brand name of a business in District 12 on it, moving it through many streets in District 1 for advertising purposes.
Initially, the police clarified that the incident happened on February 25. The group used a car to move a coffin with brand promotion messages to the center of District 1. After that, the group sent 4 people dressed similarly, in black jackets, wearing masks to cover their faces, and carried the coffin on foot through many streets such as Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Huyen Tran Cong Chua, Le Thanh Ton, Le Lai... to serve advertising activities.
The group assigned people to film clips to post on social media. Then the group put the coffin back in the car and left.
Authorities said that the above group violated road traffic laws and advertising activities.
Currently, the authorities are consolidating the records to handle them according to the law.
