Regarding the reflection "Publicly collecting underground parking fees" published in Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, on January 3, Ben Thanh Ward Police, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City brought Mr. Do Van Dung (66 years old, residing in Binh Thanh District), Nguyen Quoc Tuan (58 years old, residing in Tan Binh District) and two others to the headquarters for clarification.

On the same morning, Ben Thanh Ward Police inspected Phan Chu Trinh Street (West Gate of Ben Thanh Market). The police fined many cases of illegal parking and reminded people to follow the instructions of the volunteer youth force when parking their cars.
At noon, the ward police worked with Mr. Quach Quoc Viet, a youth volunteer in charge of collecting tolls on Phan Chu Trinh Street, Ben Thanh Ward from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day.
Ben Thanh Ward Police asked Mr. Viet to commit to instructing customers to park their cars via the app and pay the fee according to regulations, and not allowing anyone to arbitrarily collect car fees.

Previously, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper reported the situation of "secret" collection of parking fees from some people on Phan Chu Trinh Street.

Ben Thanh Ward Police said that since the beginning of 2024, they have issued fines for 212 cases with a total fine of more than 113 million VND. Of these, 151 cases were for illegal parking (total fine of more than 71 million VND); 49 cases were for street vending (total fine of more than 7 million VND); and 12 cases were for using the sidewalk for parking (total fine of more than 33 million VND).
The Ward Police also coordinated with the Traffic Police - Order Team of District 1 Police to record and fine 249 cases.
In addition, the People's Committee of Ben Thanh Ward issued a record of fines for 75 cases with a total amount of more than 50 million VND for the act of using the sidewalk for parking vehicles and street vending.
