That is the Center for the Education of Underprivileged Children, named after Vo Hong Son, the late husband of Ms. Thu Ha, the founding director of this center. I do not want to call the students of this center disabled children, because just looking at and listening to them dance and sing, I think, a normal high school would hardly have such professionalism.
Why does Vo Hong Son Center (Cho Chua town, Nghia Hanh district, Quang Ngai province) have such a professional education program, and receive such love and support from the whole society?
Ms. Thu Ha had a very good and very correct thought: "There is a very meaningful saying that I like: The coldest place is not the North Pole but the place lacking love. Love, that is the "keyword" that opens up the best things in all activities for the unfortunate children of this school. I would like to say here, if our education sector also takes "Love" as the keyword, the guiding principle for Vietnamese education, then I think our education will operate on the right open path that advanced education in the world is going on".
Ms. Thu Ha confided: "Although we cannot cure the physical defects of the children, we always believe that the love and wholehearted support from each of us will bring warm rays of sunshine to the unfortunate children here. For us, each of the children's progress is always a joy, a motivation for us to overcome all difficulties and obstacles to complete our tasks well."
The specific results of each school year, the specific progress of each student at this center have been fully included in the school year summary report. But the most difficult thing for Vo Hong Son Center lies in the best and most humane policy of the center, which is that it is a non-public center but does not collect tuition fees from parents of students, and of course, does not receive any budget support from the State.
Ms. Thu Ha, the principal and teachers, with their volunteer spirit, called for help from philanthropists and ordinary people in society.
I suddenly remembered a poem that Southern migrants knew by heart, which is "Seeing a righteous deed but not doing it is a waste".
That's right. And the good people who have helped Vo Hong Son Center deeply understand this verse. In just one morning of graduation, the center received enough sponsorship for the upcoming school year. I think, not only Vo Hong Son Center thanks the sponsors, but all of us express our most sincere gratitude to the people who have done such good deeds.
There is very specific support such as milk for students, support for clean water systems so that the center can proactively protect the health of the students. And People's Artist Le Thuy, a leading cai luong singer in Vietnam, not only comes to sing for the students and teachers to listen to, but also donates money from her artistic activities to sponsor the center.
Such a touching closing ceremony is enough to make the Vo Hong Son Center special. It is the specialness of love, of the tireless efforts of the board of directors, all the teachers, staff in the center and all those who help sponsor the center with only one purpose: hoping that the center will overcome all difficulties, maintain the learning and practice of the special students that the center takes care of.
How can the center operate sustainably, and there are many more touching opening and closing ceremonies like this. Thank you, Ms. Thu Ha, the "special mother" of the special students here.
