CMC ATI celebrates 10 years of establishment and launches new AI products

On November 14, 2024, in Hanoi, CMC Technology Application Research Institute (CMC ATI) held a ceremony to celebrate its 10th anniversary and launch a new AI product.

This event marks the 10-year journey of formation, research and technology development of CMC ATI. The achievements of CMC ATI not only contribute to the development of the domestic IT industry, but also create the "Make in Vietnam" mark in the international market. This is a worthy recognition for the tireless efforts, creativity and pioneering spirit of CMC ATI in the field of R&D, contributing to the overall development of the Information and Communications industry over the past 10 years. Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam highly appreciated the pioneering role of CMC ATI in research and technology application: "CMC Institute for Technology Application Research has the main task of "research" - research on digital technology, but what brings value to CMC and to Vietnam lies in "application" - application of digital technology so that all people can enjoy the fruits of digital technology. In more than 10 years of efforts, CMC ATI has achieved many research results, bringing research into life". The Ministry of Information and Communications believes that CMC ATI will continue to promote its achievements, improve its research and development capacity, constantly innovate to achieve many new successes, and work with CMC Group to shape and implement strategic goals. CMC ATI can research and choose some of the following directions to focus on developing with the group.

Established in 2014, CMC ATI has been a pioneer in researching and developing technology solutions. After 10 years, the Institute has built an open AI ecosystem with 25 core technologies and 10 commercialized products, creating breakthroughs in the fields of AI/BigData, IoT/Smart Devices, Security/Blockchain, and IC-Design. In particular, the facial recognition technology developed by CMC ATI has reached the Top 12 in the world and Top 1 in Vietnam, becoming a great source of pride for the domestic technology industry. Another proud achievement of the Institute is the C-OCR solution, successfully deployed not only in provinces and cities across the country, but also at Japan's largest car company, affirming Vietnam's technology export capacity. These will be important weapons to help CMC "Go Global" successfully.

AI.X strategic vision: Launching new AI products CMC AIVISION and CMC AIBox CMC ATI is committed to expanding its AI.X strategic vision, aiming to pioneer in the field of AI and expand applications in the fields of healthcare, education, and automation. Within the framework of the event, CMC ATI officially launched two new AI products: CMC AIVISION and CMC AIBOX.

Dr. Dang Minh Tuan, Director of CMC ATI Institute, introduced a demo of a new AI product to Deputy Minister Phan Tam and delegates.

CMC AIVISION is an AI Camera device that processes at the edge, serving applications of facial recognition, abnormal behavior detection, fire and explosion warning, traffic violations, and license plate recognition.

Integrating edge processing technology to reduce latency and save network bandwidth, secure data through local storage and operate independently of the internet connection, the device can send warning signals and save data via multiple methods such as LAN, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth. CMC AIBOX is a device that turns regular cameras into AI cameras, recognizes faces, detects behavior, determines age and can be customized into AIoT Gateway, Home Server or Office Server to store and share documents like NAS devices. Flexible features in collecting data from IoT devices via multiple protocols such as Bluetooth, 4G, Zigbee and analyzing AI processing at the edge without connecting to AI Server.
