Green Transition - Green Future

In March 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade launched the campaign "All people save energy in response to Earth Hour" with the message "Green transition - Green future". In particular, the event of turning off lights for one hour in response to Earth Hour will take place from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2025.

In 2024, after 1 hour of turning off lights and minimizing the use of electrical appliances during Earth Hour, Vietnam saved 428,000kWh. Thus, in 15 years of participating in the event, Vietnam has saved 6,661,000kWh.

STRONG MESSAGE

With its strong influence, attracting millions of participants, the program "All people save energy in response to Earth Hour 2025" hopes to spread the message "Green transition - Green future" is the key to open the door to a sustainable "Green future" for the young generation, contributing significantly to the journey towards Vietnam's Net Zero goal by 2050.

In 2025, with the message “Green transition - Green future”, the Ministry of Industry and Trade wishes to launch a movement that has a stronger influence in the community, not only simply calling on the whole population to save electricity, but also more broadly and at a higher level. This includes sustainable energy production activities, increased use of renewable energy sources, use of products and equipment with high energy efficiency to improve energy efficiency in both economic and environmental aspects.

The purpose of Earth Hour is to promote energy conservation, thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions, a gas that causes the greenhouse effect, and at the same time attract people's attention to environmental protection awareness. The Earth Hour campaign also aims to affirm the view that each individual action, when multiplied on a large scale, can help change our living environment for the better.

ACTIVELY RESPOND TO EARTH HOUR 2025

From 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025, millions of people in cities around the world will turn off their non-essential lights and electrical appliances for one hour - Earth Hour. This action is designed to demonstrate that global citizens can act together to reduce the impact of global warming. WWF and Earth Hour supporters around the world want you to be a part of this memorable moment.

There are many ways you can participate in supporting Earth Hour, from simply turning off lights and unnecessary electrical appliances in your home on the night of the event to changing your daily habits to reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere, contributing to solutions to global climate change.
