Preparing to close Bach Dang 2 bridge connecting Dong Nai

On July 10, according to Giao thong Newspaper reporters, Bach Dang 2 bridge connecting Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces has taken shape, connecting the two banks of Dong Nai river. The main structure at the construction site is basically completed.

On the Dong Nai side, motorbikes are working on railings and lamp posts; on the Binh Duong side, they are completing the road embankment.

At the construction site, workers are welding iron to complete the final stages to complete the bridge in September.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Liem, a technical officer of Cienco 4 Group (the construction unit), up to this point the progress of the entire project has reached about 85%, workers are working day and night in many shifts, trying to complete the bridge connecting the two banks of the Dong Nai River this September.

"Up to now, the main works have basically been completed. We are constructing the final stages such as railings, lamp posts, etc. It is expected that Bach Dang 2 Bridge will be closed in the next few days. More workers and machines have been mobilized and are working from morning to night to finish the remaining work as soon as possible," said Mr. Liem.

On the Binh Duong side, motorbikes are rolling the roadbed.

Bach Dang 2 Bridge is one of the key projects, connecting the two provinces of Dong Nai - Binh Duong and the provinces and cities in the Southeast region. The bridge and approach roads have a total length of about 2.8km, of which, the part across the Dong Nai River alone is about 410m long, 17m wide with 4 lanes.

This is a level 2 traffic project, a balanced cantilever prestressed concrete bridge and was started in December 2021. The project was expected to be completed after more than 1 year of construction (equivalent to 450 days), but due to site clearance problems and the Covid-19 pandemic, the price of materials increased, so the time was extended. Currently, the units are making efforts to speed up the construction progress to complete it in the third quarter of 2024 as committed.

Up to now, the main works of Bach Dang 2 bridge have been basically completed.

The entire project has a total investment capital of 490 billion VND from the budget of Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces, with the Binh Duong Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board as the investor. Of which, in 2024, this project has a planned capital of 65.2 billion VND.

It is known that, previously at the conference to review public investment work in the first 6 months of the year, Mr. Vo Van Minh, Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, requested relevant units to speed up the progress of Bach Dang 2 Bridge to inaugurate the project on September 2.
