Chairman of Mitsui & Co. Group visited and worked at Tasco

On September 10, 2024, Mr. Tatsuo Yasunaga, Chairman of Mitsui & Co (Mitsui) - Japan's leading trading and investment group, present in 60 countries, the unit that has just become a strategic shareholder of Tasco Auto, visited and worked with Tasco in Hanoi.

Mr. Tatsuo Yasunaga's visit to Tasco was made right after Tasco and Mitsui completed the signing of a cooperation agreement to become strategic partners and invest in Tasco Auto.

During this visit, Chairman Mitsui and the delegation visited Tasco Mall - a member of the Tasco system and also a location being deployed according to the Automall model integrating many brands that Tasco is aiming for.

At Tasco Mall, in addition to shopping facilities that welcome 5-7 million visitors each year, the shopping center with an area of ​​nearly 5 hectares also has a chain of showrooms and car service workshops of many brands distributed by the Tasco system such as Volvo, Toyota, Lynk & Co and the used car trading platform Carpla. This is one of the rare destinations in Vietnam where car users and their families are fully satisfied with the services surrounding the car as well as other shopping, culinary and entertainment needs in life.

During this visit, Mitsui's Chairman also shared his views on the growth potential of the Vietnamese automobile market and Mitsui's investment perspective from the perspective of a strategic shareholder. The top leaders of Mitsui and Tasco had a meeting to discuss specific cooperation proposals that Mitsui will accompany Tasco in the coming time, especially sharing experiences and risk management towards sustainable development.

Through this cooperation, in addition to receiving additional financial resources for the development plan, Tasco will have the opportunity to learn international operational and management experience, optimize efficiency as well as take advantage of the position and existing network from the partner; thereby concretizing the growth potential of the industry and continuing to pursue long-term development goals.

At the same time, Mitsui will provide technology solutions, consulting and accompanying Tasco to improve operational efficiency and improve governance structure. For Mitsui, this is also an opportunity for Japanese enterprises to participate more deeply in rapidly developing fields in a market of 100 million people like Vietnam.

With Tasco's vision of becoming the leading choice in Vietnam for automobile services and smart traffic infrastructure, Tasco Auto is considered a strategic piece, collaborating with other units in the same system to provide a comprehensive lifetime service chain for vehicles and vehicle owners.

Along with the process of expanding the existing network of 90 showrooms with a portfolio of 15 car brands being distributed such as Volvo, Lynk & Co, Zeekr, Toyota, Ford, Mitsubishi..., accounting for the largest market share in the Vietnamese market (13.3%). Recently, the company also affirmed its strong determination to move upstream in the industry with an automobile assembly project (CKD) developed in 2024, with the goal of launching products with global partners in the top 10 largest automobile companies in the world by 2025.
