Continuing his working trip to the provinces of the Mekong Delta and the Southeast region, this afternoon, July 1, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the working delegation of the National Assembly Standing Committee visited the special national historical site of Chuong Thien Victory; visited the Can Tho Provincial Party Committee Base Relic and presented gifts to policy families and meritorious people in Long My and Phung Hiep districts on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024).
Accompanying him were members of the Party Central Committee: Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong; Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Education Nguyen Dac Vinh; Chairman of the Committee on Finance and Budget Le Quang Manh; Chairman of the Committee on Economy Vu Hong Thanh; Chairman of the Committee on National Defense and Security, Lieutenant General Le Tan Toi; Head of the Delegation Work Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai; Secretary of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee Nghiem Xuan Thanh.
The special national historical site of Chuong Thien Victory has become a "red address" for sightseeing, tourism, and revolutionary tradition education for generations.
Visiting the Chuong Thien Victory National Historical Site, Hamlet 1, Vinh Vien Town, Long My District - the place marking the victory of the army and people of Zone 9 over 75 enemy battalions, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his emotions with the delegation of the National Assembly Standing Committee visiting the Chuong Thien Victory National Historical Site on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.
Sharing that 25 years ago, he directly came here to build the relic site with the Can Tho Department of Culture, the National Assembly Chairman hopes that the leaders of Hau Giang province will continue to pay attention to the restoration and embellishment work, and move towards using technology and digital techniques in management so that the relic site becomes a "red address" for sightseeing, tourism, and revolutionary tradition education for generations of Hau Giang province in particular and the Mekong Delta in general.
Here, the National Assembly Chairman and the Delegation presented 20 gifts to families with meritorious services to the revolution and the Management Board of the special national historical site of Chuong Thien Victory.
Writing in the memorial book at the relic site, the National Assembly Chairman stated: "The victory of Chuong Thien in 1973 is a vivid proof of the correct and timely policy of the army and people of the Mekong Delta, creating the premise for the change of direction of the Southern revolution towards the general offensive and uprising in the spring of 1975. I hope that the leaders of Hau Giang province and the relic site management board will pay more attention and make more efforts to attract more tourists, contributing to educating the younger generation about the heroic historical traditions of the nation, actively contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland".

Also this afternoon, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the delegation visited the Can Tho Provincial Party Committee Base Relic in Phuong Quoi B Hamlet, Phuong Binh Commune, Phung Hiep District, Hau Giang Province.
Here, since the beginning of 1972, the Can Tho Provincial Party Committee has overcome many hardships and challenges, standing firm in the Base area, leading the revolutionary movements in the province from one victory to another. The Can Tho Provincial Party Committee Base relic is a strong testament to the determination of the Provincial Party Committee, staying in the strategic area to lead the Party Committee, army and people of Can Tho province to carry out the resistance war full of hardships and sacrifices to achieve complete victory.
Writing in the souvenir book at the Can Tho Provincial Party Committee Relic, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated: "This is the place that marks the historical time of the Can Tho Provincial Party Committee in implementing important Resolutions to defeat the "rural pacification" plan and liberate Can Tho province, contributing to the great victory of Spring 1975, completely liberating the South, unifying the country, opening a new era, forever a source of pride urging every Vietnamese person to promote the revolutionary heroism of Vietnam in the Ho Chi Minh era, bringing the country to rapid and sustainable development in the new era".
The National Assembly Chairman hopes that the Party Committee, government and people of the province will continue to promote the heroic and united tradition, building Hau Giang homeland to become more and more prosperous and beautiful, worthy of the dedication and sacrifice of generations of fathers and brothers for the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
At the Can Tho Provincial Party Committee Base Relic, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the delegation presented 40 gifts to families of policy beneficiaries, people with revolutionary contributions and the Can Tho Provincial Party Committee Base Relic Management Board.
Representing 40 typical policy families of Phung Hiep district, Mr. Le Quoc Dung emotionally expressed his gratitude to the Party, National Assembly, Government, and provincial leaders for dedicating resources to comprehensively care for policy families and people with revolutionary contributions.
Over the past years, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Phung Hiep District Party Committee, and communes in the district have mobilized all resources to take care of implementing policies for people with revolutionary contributions, thereby completing the construction of houses for people with revolutionary contributions and policy families. Social security care has been carried out promptly and effectively.
Mr. Le Quoc Dung said that the Party and the State take care of policy families very comprehensively. Only the Party and the people can have today.
On the same day, in Chau Thanh district, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man visited and presented gifts to Major General Le Thanh Son, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, former Commander of the Can Tho Provincial Military Command.
