On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2023) and the 34th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2023), on the morning of December 18, in Hanoi, President Vo Van Thuong visited and inspected combat readiness training at the Special Forces Corps. Also attending were leaders of a number of ministries, branches and the Ministry of National Defense. Inspecting combat readiness training at the training ground, President Vo Van Thuong and delegates witnessed demonstrations of combat skills and special elite combat cooperation such as: Camouflage techniques, commando special forces techniques and anti-terrorism techniques...; demonstrating the unique features of the combat art of the Special Forces Corps: Fighting from the inside out, fighting from the outside in, fighting blossoms in the enemy's heart. Along with that are fast, accurate shooting exercises, martial arts performances, combat techniques, and brave combined attacks, showing determination, training discipline, fighting, and the process of persistent and resilient training, overcoming the usual limits to become "Elite - Greatly brave - Bold and resourceful - Dangerous attacks, great victories", worthy of the tradition of bravery and resilience of the Vietnamese Special Forces.

Appreciating the quality of training and combat readiness of the Special Forces, President Vo Van Thuong encouraged officers and soldiers to make continuous efforts, overcome cold weather conditions, persevere in training, master many difficult and complex training contents; and be ready to fight in all situations. Recognizing and praising the results of all aspects of the unit's work, the President expressed pride in the more than 56-year history of building, fighting and growing up of the Heroic Special Forces. With a particularly intelligent, brave, united, creative fighting spirit, regardless of hardship and sacrifice, and unique military art, generations of officers and soldiers of the Special Forces have achieved glorious and exceptionally outstanding feats, together with the whole country completing the cause of national liberation and reunification.

Entering the stage of building and defending the Fatherland, the Corps has done a good job of advising and proposing to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to build and develop special forces in the direction of being elite, compact and strong; performing well the function of the commando force - the leading unit in the fight against terrorism in the entire army; focusing on Party building in terms of politics, ideology, organization and ethics; taking care of training, managing, educating and training cadres and party members. The training quality, qualifications and combat readiness of the special forces have been increasingly improved. The Corps has also performed well in defense diplomacy... With the increasingly high task of protecting the Fatherland, in the context of the complicated world situation, emphasizing the requirement of always being ready to handle all situations with the highest efficiency, the President directed that it is necessary to build a Vietnamese Special Forces force that is especially elite in politics; has especially strong political will and especially high will; is a fighting force that is especially trusted, absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the people; ready to receive and successfully complete tasks in all situations.

The President requested the Special Forces to thoroughly grasp and understand the Resolution of the 8th Central Committee, Session XIII, on the Strategy for National Defense in the new situation; the resolutions, directives and conclusions of the Party, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on the implementation of national defense and security tasks associated with socio-economic development; and to deeply understand Uncle Ho's instructions to the Special Forces. Along with the training task, the Corps needs to focus on promoting Party and political work; building a clean and strong Party organization in terms of politics, ideology, organization and ethics. Along with that, it is necessary to build a special force that is combat-ready, elite, compact and strong, capable of completing all assigned tasks. Constantly innovate and improve the quality of training, comprehensive level, and exceptionally high combat readiness, ready to defeat all enemies. The Special Forces also need to closely coordinate with the Border Guard, Coast Guard, Police and relevant agencies and units to effectively carry out the task of combat readiness, preventing and combating "peaceful evolution"; preventing and combating terrorism, riots and overthrow; promptly and effectively handling complicated situations, not being passive or surprised in any situation.

The President also noted that the Corps needs to perform well in logistics and technical work; promote the spirit of self-reliance, self-improvement, practice thrift, increase production, constantly improve and enhance the material and spiritual life and take care of the health of soldiers; regularly care for and properly resolve policies for soldiers and policies for the Army's rear so that officers and soldiers can work with peace of mind. Along with that, it is necessary to strengthen the relationship between the army and the people, closely and deeply attached to the people. Coordinate with all levels and sectors to mobilize people to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws; actively participate in activities to repay gratitude, help people eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, develop the economy, culture, society and prevent and combat natural disasters in the area where they are stationed.
